Forums - Sales - The gap appears to be growing between 360 and PS3.

Give it time, the PS3 will catch up, don't forget the X360 is $200 cheaper and has been released a year before the PS3. By the beginning of 2011 that gap will be no more.

And what is going to cause this to happen?  Lay out a scenario where it does.  I haven't seen one that will work.  Killzone 2 failed to do it.  Is the world THAT eager to get ahold of a driving game?

That's what happens when one console is $100 cheaper than the other.

Why is the Wii outselling the XBox then, if cheaper counts? However, when the XBox 360 did hit $200, it does appear to have taken off.  But the Wii outsells it, eventhough it is more expensive.

So, on this note, I will ask why the PS3 will suddenly take off if the price is $300, instead of $400?  Is it a mass market price yet?

OMG Really!

I never realized this amazing phenomenon!

BTW guys

is the gap between wii n Ps360 increasing too?

Well they do a great job selling the Wii. Too bad that can't be said for games other than Mario.

Wii Fit and Wii Play say hello.  On the DS, Brain Training/Brain Age, and Advance Wars say hello also.

That's a funny... they say hello because they want me to know they are VERY popular.

Well let me be a little more clear. If its a crap accessory, a party game, will amuse dumb or young, or developed by Nintendo it seems to sell particularly well. Which is why a lot of 3rd party developers don't bother putting their good games on it. You really need me to explain this or did you just feel like playing devil's advocate?

As far as the DS goes... I don't see DS mentioned anywhere in this thread.

If you had said Nintendo first party, I wouldn't of commented.  But you said Mario.  The reality is that Wii Sports and the controller waggle is what sells the Wii, not Mario.  That and Miis.  Same goes with Wii Fit.  Outside of Mario Kart Wii, what sells on the Wii as monster titles is NON-Mario stuff.

And don't underestimate the power of the waggle.  Wii Bowling is still arguably the best bowling videogame ever made.  THAT is what interests the masses, more than your supposed "good" titles, which is usually stated to consist of lining up crosshairs with detailed enemies, and hitting a button to supposedly shoot them.

Are you aware 5 of the top 10 selling Wii games are Mario related right?

Does that mean only Mario sells period? No.

Does that mean Mario counts for a large chunk of software sales? Yes.

I won't argue that the Wii bowling game is one of the best bowling games on the market. Not saying alot though.

Considering we're seeing high rated and popular games become nothing more than rail shooters on the Wii... I guess Wii owners know ALOT about doing nothing more than "lining up crosshairs" minus "detailed enemies." But ofcourse "hitting a button to supposedly shoot them" is a basic function of most games. And if an FPS is such a simple concept why don't we see very many of them or good ones on the Wii?

Isn't weird that the Wii sells considerably more consoles yet they don't sell considerbly more games? Why don't you shed some light on that for me.
