Would people understand the story if they never had a chance to play the first one?

They'd need some sort of extended intro. Probably just a remixing of ingame footage from ME1 would do the trick, at least for the major plot points. Knowing Bioware, we'll probably will see more than just major plot points connecting both games so playing ME1 is gonna be an easy recommendation to those looking forward to ME2
Its a shame, my PC will never run it. I will hold out hope that at some point a PS3 copy will appear with ME also in the same package.
assumption is the mother of all f**k ups
I could really careless.
I played the first one at a friends place, meh, wasn't as good as people we're saying.
I have a 360, I don't really care.

Funny. You've said it before but it's still funny.
As long as an X360 game is also on PC all Sony fans are automatically safe. Therefore these threads are meaningless.
| Stan85 said: It will be a AAA game like ME1,but again will not be on PS3. Do you care? Will you play it on other platforms? 360 or Pc? Is it a timed MS exclusive? Will it be on PS3 after 12 months? Don`t be shy, post your opinion. |
I don't care I'm getting pc version anyway (1920x1200@ 30+ fps and superior controls)

I care, even if I will have a new PC when it will be out, it's a shame that EA isn't releasing it on PS3.
I have a good enough PC that I don't give 2 cr*ps that it's not on PS3.
Hell, I wish RPGs and jRPGs would go to PC as well elimating the need for consoles.
"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY." --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials
