I'm sure this is going to attract PS3 fanboys like bees to honey, but anyone know a general breakdown for the Wii's demographics? I recall seeing an article on it during the last couple of months but can't google it successfully.

Let me remember I forget the real break down and can a mod warn Timmah!, thanks

Wii Demographic:

Casual Gamer: 50%
Non-Gamer: 20%
Hard-Casual: 10%
Hardcore: 10%

Of course I'm off but the numbers sound about correct.

Besides the fact that I suspect that you're pulling those numbers out your arse, they don't mean a thing unless the categories are defined.

ok, well I remember hearing somewhere that 10% of the Wii userbase never owned a console.
As well as this, we have 3.65 million copies of Zelda TP. Considering most of the people who purchased this game will be the "core" gamers, and this game had approximately a 75% attach rate at launch (which would have been made up of almost completely core gamers) we have about 40% of the console being taken up by the core gamers (Mainly Nintendo fanboys). The remaining 50% is made up of everyone in between.

there is my incredibly scientific conclusion

Help! I'm stuck in a forum signature!

The only breakdown I've seen thus far is that Wii owners are wealthier and more affluent than PS3 or 360 owners. Haven't seen anything else since E3.

Also they look, smell and taste better.

Current systems owned: Wii, 360. I'll get a PS3 when hell freezes over!... or when the price drops to a reasonable level. Whichever comes first.

Heh. Seriously though, that's an actual study done by Nielson Group. Wii owners are wealthier and more affluent, on average.

Not owners, households. Maybe more Wii owners still live with their mommies.
