alright, this has bothering for a long time.  why is it that in online gaming, people use annoying and geeky lingo like noob, pwn, scrub, etc.  i just don't see why it is really an insult.  i mean, people sometimes call me noob even when i have been playing a game for a while.  is there an opposite insult for the word noob.  like something you call someone who plays a game way too much and is really skilled at it.  not like virgin or loser, but something a little different that is along the same level of disrespect as noob.  anyone else hate online lingo as much as me?

I think I have been desensitized to noob by being blasted with it over the years, but "nub" always cracks me up.

I abhor the usage of "noob", "nub", and "ownt" - yes, someone has said that to me.

The opposite of a noob is someone who has no life, an ultimate geek. You know, someone who plays wayyyyy too much.

The worse online and gaming lingos I've heard are the words "overpowered", "rape", "lol" (seriously... outside of the Internet?) and "overabused."

About the word "noob"... I say, just laugh about it! Oh, even better, just reply with "no u." Most geeks should laugh about it. ^^

They also seem to enjoy calling you a homosexual in a variety of ways. Go figure.
