Forums - Sony - Attention Haters! I picked up Resistance 2.

I happen to be a fan of the storyline of the original, as I am a fan of alternate history.  I thought it was good, and R2 interests me.  As I read here, however, Resistance 2 was thrashed, primarily by Sony fans, for some reason.  Maybe it didn't beat Resistance 2, or people didn't like the fact they changed the weapons.  Whatever the reason, it looks like it was thrashed.

This being said, I happened to be in a store called "Buy and Trade" and they had 50% off the collector's edition, so it came to $40.  I thought it was good price. So, anyhow haters, stuff it.  I picked up the game.

I was also able to get Wario Shake It for $25.

By the way, anyone have use for a plastic Chimera character?  Not sure why they include these things.

I hope you enjoy it.

I loved the original but just couldn't get sucked into R2.

The storyline is pretty good, the ending is awesome in R2.

Fact: Earthbound is the greatest game ever made

The Single Player is average but the multiplayer coop was awesome.

Was it because of the newness of Resistance?  Technically, R2's specs looks superior to the original.   I thought the original actually had better graphics than Halo 3.  This does look better.  Just wondering if it is now lost in the suffle with the sheer number of FPS titles out there.  Eventhough R2 is superior to the original Resistance, everything got upped in the arena.  And yes, looks like Killzone 2 delivers a great punch for a PS3 FPS. Speaking of which, I will need to get back to KZ2 in a bit here.  I happen to be watching the bonus disk with R2.

To be honest I think it was because it was my first PS3 game and the first FPS I really played since my days of Quake on the PC.

I am mainly a JRPG player so I could get fooled easily.

Honestly,  it just feels a little different from Resistance 1.  It's still a very good game.  Definitely an 87-90 rating type of game.  The storyline is still cool.  People are overly harsh with it.  The grand scale of the game is a lot of fun (Reminds me of independence day a bit).  Personally,  I was a tad disappointed with the graphics (Especially because the first one had very good graphics and particle effects especially considering when it was released).

Overall,  it's a worthy game.  Kill Zone 2 has the better Multi-player but 60 person online deathmatch is rather fun and Co-Op mode is quite a bit of fun too.

In short,  just give it a chance and play through a bit.  You'll notice a slightly different feel and look from R1 but it's a fine game.
