Mass Effect 2 won’t release on PS3, BioWare just confirmed, with the game hitting PC and 360 only in “early” 2010.

“In this dark second chapter, Saren’s evil army of Geth soldiers has just been defeated, and humans, who are still struggling to make their mark on the galactic stage, are now faced with an even greater peril,” said the developer in a press release.

“We’re going to surpass the extraordinary gaming experience we brought our fans in Mass Effect by delivering intensified combat and expanded weapon options as well as increased depth of planet exploration, all while delivering a powerful, emotionally engaging story,” said BioWare head Ray Muzyka.

“Mass Effect 2 is shaping up to be an unforgettable RPG-shooter experience, taking players on a non-stop roller-coaster ride filled with stunning plot twists and no-holds-barred action.”

Ehm... no one confirmed anything.

exclusive isn't mentioned anywhere.

This obviously won't end speculation, it could still be a timed exclusive

DMJ, still doesn't change the fact that the PS3 version isn't launching the same time the 360/PC versions are.

Exclusive my ass, I see the 2 platforms mentioned and nothing more. I do not think people understand these days how important the "exclusive" word is. ie FFXIII was announced for PS3 with not a mention of the word "exclusive" and we all know what assumptions did right there.

Since when is "exclusive" mentioned anywhere nowadays besides from first-party developers? (And also besides Sony's old PS3 trailers way back when that showed games "exclusive to PS3 but ended up going multiplat, like FFXIII).

It's sad that people will still hold on to the fact that the game *might* come to PS3 in 2011 (not happening in 2010), especially when they haven't even ported the original.

Why would it be a timed exclusive if the franchise has always been on 360/PC ONLY, with no original port even headed to PS3? I expect many desperation posts ITT.

Also, RPG GOTY (possibly GOTY in general) 2010. I LOVE FF and all, but if you know western reviewers and GOTY sites, and if you know ME2 hype, it's almost in the bag.. o_o

Microsoft may have had a contract with BioWare to make the Mass Effect trilogy exclusive to 360 and PC. Just because BioWare was purchased by EA doesnt mean that contract was declared null and void.

Uh, FFXIII WAS announced exclusive for PS3 way back then. It wasn't until recently that the tables turned.. what are you talking about?

I just had a quick look through and you are right.... but now Versus has only on PS3 at the end (last one I saw I think)
