Forums - Gaming - Resident evil 5 co-op

Ok, what on earth is going on with resident evil 5 co-op? When played locally on the one tv, the two screens are just... wrong. They are made so tiny, you can barely see (this is on our 42" plasma), and are offset on some god awful angle. Now it's pretty obvious Capcom has borrowed a few elements from gears 2, but i only wished they took note of Gears' amazing local co-op.

Anyone else underwhelmed by the local co-op feature?

Around the Network

I love the RE5 co-op as it is. My only small complaint is why didn't they make use of the full screen instead of leaving black on the side. I would've filled that space up with the characters' item menu so I wouldn't have to press buttons to see what I or my partner has and it wouldn't block my screen if in case I'm about to be attacked.

I think you better get used to it. More titles seem to be utilizing this approach (Left 4 Dead, CoD WAW, etc). Resistance 2 was able to do "full screen" local multiplayer, but they changed the aspect ratio from 16:9 to 4:3 (Pillar Boxed). I think the staggered screen approach is easier to implement, or works better with the native resolution. This is why I am glad I don't have any friends. :)

Thanks for the input, Jeff.
