At least 360 owners had grace when the 360 was being slaughtered by the PS3 ....

Woo! /thread
Europe is different, and can meana different area depending on which company is reporting it and how they are currently choosing to view the numbers, When Microsoft reports figures for "Europe" they mean UK, France, Germany, Spain and Italy.
When Nintendo does it they add in Benelux.
I have yet to work out what Sony implies, but they buiilt up a much bigger presence than the other two in Eastern Europe the past two generations, so they could mean a much bigger region when they say Europe.... Someone will have to send me a few references to Sony actually stating "Europe" figures somewhere because most of the time it is specific countries they refer to.
----
If you add up those 5 countries on VGC you get 7.2 million for the X360 as DirtyP has already said.
In Nintendo's idea of Europe the X360 is around 7.8 million (Benelux makes up about 1/2 to 2/3 of "other Europe" section)... but somehow I doubt it.

Why would someone give numbers for Europe without numbers for half the countries? That's just weird.
OK so 8M for UK, france, germany, spain and italy.
And almost 4M for eastern europe, north africa, middle east and some asian countries ... right Oo

Scandanavia, Benelux, Portugal, Greece, Eastern Europe..... Australia, New Zealand, then African countries (not very significant) and East Asian countries like South Korea where the X360 is actually quite popular.

- eastern europe, greece: poor countries.
- Portugal = spanish numbers
- south korea = lol
HMMM, I can only speculate.

Poor countries, but there are a lot of them with large populations (ie Russia) As you can see though by the "other Europe" part on VGC... the X360 is over 1 million.... as I said, 1/2 to 2/3rds of that will be Benelux, then there is Switzerland, Austria etc... all these add up. - Portugal = spanish numbers How do you know Microsoft includes Portugal with Spain eh? do you work for them? - south korea = lol In places like South Korea, Taiwan etc the X360 is the most popular console of the 3 (PC is an overwhelming gaming choice though) |
There is also Scandanavia, and Australia and New Zeadland to make up that remaining 3.5 million.... check the VGC figures yourself and stop being ignorant.
If you havn't noticed... the PS3 in the same regions I believe are not being counted for the X360 by MS, has sold about the same number of consoles.... so if you are trying to diminish the importance of these markets you are claiming the PS3 should lose some of it's 3.5 million sales too.
