It’s Official, Raiden Fighters Aces Soaring Overseas

By Spencer . March 16, 2009 . 2:00pm

The ESRB rating made it a safe bet, but nothing beats an official confirmation from publisher Valcon Games. Now we have one (thanks Chris!!). Raiden Fighter Aces is coming to North America thanks to Valcon Games. No official date was listed so we’ll have to go with the early April target set by retailers. Raiden Fighters Aces has three arcade conversions for the $29.99 suggested retail price. This is way, way better than 7,140 yen ($72). Essentially, we’re less than half price for the same collection. Awesome.

Since Microsoft is still lenient when it comes to 2D games there is hope we’ll see Cave’s games and Shooting Love 200X overseas. Which publisher is going to be brave enough to pick up Deathsmiles?

PAL release?? I'm pissed off playing the Japanese demo and not being able to understand half of the writing.

If they ever bring over DeathSmiles, my life will be complete.

Hell yeah! More SHMUPs are always welcomed in this era of "take my hand" gaming.

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Watch my insane gameplay videos on my YouTube page!

I'm wondering why they are doing a retail release. They could sell each game for 800 MS pts each. I'll try to pick it up if I could find it where I am.

@rhisc

IMO, retail releases looks more appealing. I prefer physical media. Also if you add it all up, the better value is the retail disc. Price is the same. $29.99 for retail. 3 games at $10 each would be about $30. But you get more Achievements out of a retail disc, 1000. Compared to 200 on XBLA. For 3 games that would be only 600 Achievement points.

IIRC, they wanted to put it on XBLA, but Microsoft rejected it because they wanted to reduce the number of straight arcade ports and focus instead on good original games like Crazy Mouse and MLB Stickball.
