Well you can have a story that stays true to the character and Events. It can be well done. But you can have a story based on true events ( Ie not entirely factual character wise) and it can be equal or better to the story that stays true to the events

God of War did neither

It was both untrue to characters and events.

The setting seems to be their simply out of lack of creativity.

My prior posts holds, Kasz.

And I think they've stayed mostly true to Homer's characterizations of the gods, keeping most of the important themes of the mythos intact.

MGS4? Is this a joke thread? As a huge fan of Metal Gear, MGS3 had the best story, with MGS4 being last (Metal Gear series)

My best guess is that the title reffers to the worst stories for hyped games in that case mgs is a tad worse than ff7.

Clearly the best story goes to FF TACTICS... as far as PSX goes

I don't think The Dark Knight comparison is fair (As in, you're selling TDK short), but I agree with the sentiment.

I'm a sucker for a good story though, so I could never get into the Gears' universe (Or Halo, Killzone, etc).

MGS4 had a pretty sweet story, but of all time? Hello no. There are so many better stories than MGS4 in general. What made MGS4's story so great was that it related to past MGS' and was a continuation.

There are many other games out there with a better story than MGS4, but god do i love MGS4 lol
