How the hell did this thread get so de-railed? Rol created a great topic of discussion. Ignorance is relentless!

I do agree to certain extent with Rol, the amount of money spend on development of graphically intensive titles is ridicilous, and financial reports of most companies prove it.
I personally do not see myself as a "hardcore" gamer therefore im happy to save the hardcore gaming

 Probably because the discussion was done and dusted in the first page then Rol started trolling responses that disagreed with him hence its not vastly off topic.  It was never a great topic, the people responsible for over spending are developers pure and simple.

Sorry, Pal but I disagree with your assesment of the situation. Rol's thread is an idea or theory that has some merit or at the very least something to think about. Also I have my own assesment of who caused the de-railment and who's been trolling this thread on numerous posts, but I will not call anyone out..But here's a hint, it aint Rol.

Look at movies.....3-4 MAJOR movie studios with many smaller studios, that is what gaming is becoming, hardcore games will be made until none profit any longer.

Hardcore gaming destroys itself.

Sony and Microsoft are just following the "hardcore" demand of always bigger, better, more expensive, more detailed, more epic, more HD.

There is no way for "hardcore gaming" to keep existing any longer. Even if the studios would stop this insane cost-increasing, the hc gamers would turn against them. It is their basic perception of "quality", that is contradicting with business common sense.

Well duh.  Obviously you're supposed to disagree with people who disagree with you.
