@Khuutra: The year is already over! The data goes from December 28th 2008 to December 26th 2009, I could add the proportional sales for the 2 days, but it won't matter too much. Anyways I will keep on updating the FY sales.

@Luthor: You are confusing Calendar year with Fiscal Year, so far for the current fiscal year, Nintendo has sold according to VGC 16,302,398 units.

They still need to sell an average of 285,000 units / week until April arrives to reach their projections.

Note: I'm continuing the comparison but for Fiscal years, comparing last one to the current one, to see how close Nintendo gets from their projections. Last FY Nintendo sold almost 25 million Wiis according to this site, so we will see how close it can get before April starts. It all depends on how strong this Q1 is (or how weak).

Note: Wii was adjusted down about 100k units, and it's the first week it's down FY over FY this year.

The 2008 fiscal year was even more impressive than the 2008 calender year so I'm afraid these last couple months are going to be mostly downhill. Others seems to be the Wii's greatest weakness ATM. It's tracking downwards in that region even though Q1 2009 in others was only average and not amazing like in America. Holiday 2008 must not have been too supply constrained in Europe. Thankfully Japan is picking up the slack. Regardless Nintendo's going to end the year in pretty good shape, the shipment projection should be met unless something goes drastically wrong.

I don't really know what happened, but the adjustment goes back to the beginning of 2009 as well, so it makes it seem the Wii was up this week, but in reality it got adjusted down big time last year.
