@g-value: What you should do is actualy explain in more than 5 words why you hate FFXII. I have reasons to dislike VIII, and I'm always willing to explain to whoever is willing to listen. You only saying "FFXII is garbage" makes me think you never gave the game much of a chance.

To explain every problem i had with FF 12 would take way to long so i'm just going make a quick summary on how i feel about FF12.

It sucks major ass. The main character and his sidekick played no major role in the games storyline. All i got from Vaan is that he wanted revenge for his brother and that he wanted to fly. I ain't got nothing from Penelo except that she want to go where every Vaan went like a faithful sidekick sould. There were not enough interactions between the characters. You would travel to the other fucking side of the world just to be braced with one cutscene. The battle system was boring as hell. I though i was stupid that you had to get a licene in order to use a certain weapen. The Quickenings were cool. Vaan's third Quickening was epic and so were the other characters Quickening and those are the only ups of FF12's battle system. You had to grind like crazy to get enough money for items equipment.

It's things like this that convince me more and more that a lot of problems with playing Final Fantasy 12 (in terms of gameplay) come from trying to play it like every other Final Fantasy, when it's not meant to be played like that.

It would be like hating Ogre Battle for not playing like Final Fantasy Tactics.

Although that should have easily been expected when a franchise's fanbase was accustomed to the series being a certain way for over 20 years you know.

This is why Atlus is currently > Square

They give their game's fanbase what they want, not just try to appeal to someone else and leave us behind.

There is zero wrong with us fans wanting it to stay the way it was.

There is however something wrong if people think our opinion on it is wrong.

No i tried playng it the way FF 12 was meant to be played but then everything becomes much more of a chore. I don't like do being forced to do sidequest in order to get money faster plus Final Fantasy 12's world is way to big to be running around like crazy doing those sidequest. And i don't like have to buy tactics for the gambit system because everything gets to confusing. And even if the gameplay was good it would not make up for the boring characters and storyline.

I don't really like FF7 but the battle system in FF12 is just terrible imo.

"And yet, I've realized that maybe living a "decent" life means you won't ever have a "good" life."

Also I have seen change in the series since I began playing it over 15 years ago. Maybe not huge changed, but some changes none the less.

I have always enjoyed needing to think during a battle and having to do things to win. In FFXII I could easily get by just going into my menu, setting up my gambits, get into a battle and just sit back and let it do it's thing.

That for me was just boring and FFXII lovers just need to accept that. Just like I accept that they actually enjoyed it.

Viva la revolucion!

@g-value:

You don't earn money by going on quests. Sidequests usually don't get you much money, unless you're doing hunts, and even then they're not very effective in terms of cost vs. time until you get up to the Behemoth King. You earn money by chaining kills and leveling your loot. I can earn a quarter of a million gil in about twenty minutes at level... what, thirty?

More than I will ever, ever reasonably need.

Sadly I expected more than that for an answer. -.-
