Hm... Well... I want Sonic & The Black Knight, but before you suggest anything:

1. I am a sonic fan, and a member of the Sonic Support Squad. Don't bash Sonic in general.
2. I am a long-time Sonic fan, and Sonic3K was my favorite...
3. DIMPS FTW! SR was awesome...
4. I absolutely LOVED Secret Rings, more than SA2... possibly more than SA1...
   
5. Although I still haven't beaten it yet due to the accuisition of newer games, I thought the daytime sections of Unleashed were amazing, and the game overall was good, the Werehog sucked, and has kept me from finishing the game as of yet...
6. I actually, to an extent, liked Shadow The Hedgehog... I beat it all the way through, I liked it, and the gunplay made it fun (I avoided vehicles) but in order to beat the repeating levels (the exact same path over again w/ a diff. ending), I got my brother to beat them for me... So that game isn't as god-awful to me as everyone said it was
7. I HATED SONIC '06. That game was garbage. I bought it for $10 on clearance, just to see how bad it was, and it was pretty damn close... I ended up beating it, and I have only played the multiplayer about 5 times and shown off its terrible-ness and never touched it again...

All of the reviews have been bitching about the controls and difficulty...

For example, look at this fan-review that shows how you can beat a level by just waggling the Wiimote and holding foward :( I don't really like or support his language, for example, he says: "Sonic Fags" but it was the only one I could find with someone beating a level like this... So watch at your own free-will fast-foward to 5:00:

Is it worth a rent?  --- That's what I'm thinking (I get free Blockbuster rentals)...

I currently plan to buy MadWorld before this, followed by The Conduit (yeah, all the way 'till summer), untill it's VERY cheap if it really is as bad as everyone says it is... and maybe even Sonic Rush Adventure...

It's better than Secret Rings.

Also, everyone says it's slow, but I'm sure someone can show me an example of where it's not...

BTW, does Sonic gain any new abilities (Don't spoil the game, plz), similar to Time Break or Speed Break? I loved Speed Break...

Secrets rings I hated... I'd give it a 3/10. IGN gave Sonic and the Black Knight 2 poits lower score than secret rings... its also short. I'd rent it.

If you liked Secret Rings, why not try this game? It's the same series

Because S&TSR didn't have waggle controls... -_-...

Sonic using a sword is still one of the worst concepts I've ever seen in a while for that franchise. But... This isn't to say the game is crap or not.

I'd say just rent it first, and see if you enjoy it.

I'm gonna dissent here. There is no way in hell Black Knight is Secret Rings quality. I just picked up BN last night after beating Madworld and this game sucks, like almost Sonic Heroes level suckage. SR had a broken walking mechanic, but it was fast, and fun. BN looks good, Unleashed quality at least. The problem is Sega did what they always do, instead of sticking with the concept of Sonic that any real fan loves (faaaaaasssstt running), they decided to throw in the sword shit.

Swords=warehog simple as that.

The game is not a 3/10 like IGN said, but I think they are punishing Sega for ignoring it's fans for the dozenth time. Unleashed was great, when they listened to the fan. SR was nice because it was simple and fast. Most of the rest since 2D have been trash with only the adventure games being decent.

If yo, like me think that SR was the best Sonic game in years, stay the hell away from Sonic and the Black Warehog Night.

Agreed, but I know few people who have played every Wii game that is better. If you have, then no doubt give it a try, or if you are a graphics whore. But from a general buyer perspective this is a game to avoid, it is quite poor even incomparison to other cash-ins like Dead Rising. Its not the worst Sonic game ever, Heroes has that distinction, but it is worse than even even the recent average of Sonic games. If only it was Unleashed without the extra cruft it could be a fun game. Sadly Sega things we are all morons whoi can't comprehend what made Sonic fun in the first place. Since the early 2000's people have told Sega what they want just to get tons of trash shoved down their throats. After playing the daytime levels of Unleashed I felt like I had been reunited with an old friend. Now I realize that Sega will never let him free, trapped forever with gimmick after sad gimmick. It really makes me angry what they have done to my mascot.
