Forums - Gaming - Who here is loving RE5 and doesn't get the hate with this game?

it sucks as a horror game because it isn't scary

it sucks as an action game because the enemies are far too slow and the main character can't move his feet while aiming. basically it's too sluggish.

so if it sucks as a horror game and sucks as an action game, how can it be any good?

RE4 was much scarier than than RE5 appears to be - the co-op thing destroys the horror aspect completely. I'll admit it wasn't as scary as REmake for example, and yes, I did compain about that at the time.
RE4 still maintained many of the aspects of the earlier games - a need for ammo conservation for example
RE4 had much better graphics than RE5 for its time

RE4 had many improvements over the previous games, as well as a few things it did worse
RE5 is just worse than RE4 in all respects in my opinion, and in the opinion of many other people

Appears to be? So in other words, you haven't played RE5. You're just another one of those jealous Wii fanboys then?

RE5 in RE4 in HD with co-op. There's no way you can possibly like one and not the other.

I did. I'm not gonna spoil it but if the ending is "True" then Resident Evil is dead to me.

@bugrimmar

It's a good game overall.i shoot the guy in the foot and i finish him with a uppercut and then step on his brain.

it's got a touch of horror ,a touch of puzzle and a touch of action.

the result is fun.

all i know is that this game is much better than Dead space and that game was getting alot of buzz.

I'm sure he'll be back...

You probably think that because, as you said, you don't like horror games.  :P

I guess you are right man.

but now Capcom has a very tough decision to make .(especially if the sales for RE5 are higher than RE3 or 2 or 1 which are more targeted toward horror fans)

cause for RE6 if the go to all horror they will loose a lot of new fan base and if they don't they'll loose their original fanbase.

that's exactly the problem.

the game doesn't have any real identity, it tries to be things that its not.

the action is far too sluggish to be comparative with action games out there, and the horror is far too tame to be compared to other horror games out there.

basically, it doesn't do anything well. its just one of those games that tries to be everything and fails at most of it. it just has a 'touch' of everything and not a single mark of perfection.

Capcom should give developers "more" Creative freedom with their developers...just like Take-two/Rockstar does with the Houser Brothers or like Konami does with Hideo Kojima...but that's not gonna happen since Mikami is gone now.
