Forums - Gaming Discussion - PSHome = New Internet Porn portal

One of the biggest challenges Sony has with its PSHome system is to prevent it from turning into a massive porn portal (unless they WANT this to happen). Maybe a rating system for users (G, M+, R, etc..)? Maybe a complete ban on all porn? Maybe a completely open system? What do people think about this? Here is one (of the several) stories/links I have found about this so far: "Sony's 'Home' sex haven in disguise (perhaps?)" http://www.gametab.com/news/837220/

I predict the second it goes live everyone jumps on / corners everyone else for an MGS3:3-style group-hump

Sony is anti porn I thought? That is why the porno industry went with HD-DVD instead of blu ray (sony wouldn't let it happen). I believe this is right (please correct me if I am wrong). I wonder how they are going to deal with this...

I think they're overreacting a tiny bit...the worst thing in MMOs is usually just some dancing in underpants and the like...

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Actually, Porn is only half the equation. There will have to be some monitoring (or censorship) - as there is always the scarier side of things (hate crimes, pedophilia, pro-terrorism) or worse still... politics ;) After reading more, Im actually confused as to whether the content is on YOUR machine - or their online server (server I suppose). Have to be if they want people to access it when your machine is off? Wonder if Sony will try to pull the 'ownership' trick (they own everything on their servers) - so if you accidentally upload some cool art you created... bad luck??

Good question. I hope it's saved on the server since I don't want to take up more space on the HD, heh.

yeah, but in the Home people will be about to stream anything they want, since Sony claims people will be able to invite friends to watch the same thing in their Home. Might be a great way to watch movies you don't own if they allow that. Would be similar to renting a movie and inviting friends to watch it in your real home. Would be nice to see announcements posted about some movie that will be showing...of course, that'd be a major hit to rental stores and dvd sales I'd think (assuming PS3s sell well, yeah yeah, don't go there).

duh...I hit the wrong button.

why stop a good thing? I like porn and would be more likely to go for this if they did.
