Forums - Microsoft - Time To Worry About The 2009 Xbox 360 Line-up?

As a ps3 only owner, I am indeed worried about the 09 lune-up for the 360.
I want MS first party support to deliver. If not MS will have not choice but to buy 3rd party games(timed).

That has been their business with jrpgs lately. Really MS... use your money and create games, don't just use it to take away games from gamers without your system. =/

I want to play bioshock 2 , lost planet 2 and mass efect 2 as soon as posible.

It's just business, how do you think they got so rich?

And don't let enyone fool themselves, if Sony could afford it, they'd do the same.

I know sony would if they could. Im really happy they got their ass handed to them in 06 and 07. They worked hard to make up for their mistakes and arrogance. They brought vibration back and PSN is closer to LIVE than ever before. Better yet they invested in really risky projects such as LBP and flower.

I want to see MS use their money on something new. Because at this point, MS is spending 30 millions just to keep other people from playing a game.

MS you have money, buy a good development studio and create a kickass game. Let me enjoy 3rd party titles xD.

Maybe im eating sour grapes here, but thats how i see it. =P

considering only the announced games; you would have to say that ps3 has the best lineup. but its expected that MS will announce some more titles

Yes, but the difference is, Sony has already announced quite a few big exclusives. If they schedule too many more big guns to release around the same time, they'll cannibalize their own games' sales as well as those of their big third party games (see Resistance 2  vs. CoD:WaW last year).

Microsoft, on the other hand, has plenty of room to announce some big games for later this year without running the risk of stepping on their own toes. And given that the PS3 has an even smaller userbase than the 360, and the fact that killer exclusives for the HD twins don't result in more than a small bump in console sales, the better question actually is: Time to worry about the 2009 PS3 line-up?

Not really.

Mass Effect 2  Scheduled fpr Next year also on PC and most likely on PS3 since the Publisher is EA
Forza 3          No official announement yet
Alan Wake     also on PC high chance for coming out next year
Halo 3 ODST   90+ for sure
Kingdom Under Fire 2  also on pc
Two Worlds 2 also on pc
and tons more

No needs to worry. I'm sure there'll be announcements, but the lineup looks good so far. Maybe not earth-shattering, but neither is Sony's or Nintendo's.

 Seriously lol?

this VS:

Gran Turismo 5

God Of War 3

INfamous

Heavy Rain

White Knight Chronicles (in the west)

Quantom Theory

Demons Souls (in the west)

Uncharted 2

Ratchet and Clank: Future 3 (In QFB it says "The adventure continues 2009")

PLUS Semi Exclusives:

DC Universe Online

Free Realms

PLUS:

Eat Sleep Play (David Jaffes studio): 1 Unannounced Exclusive

Tecmo: 1 Unannounced Exclusive

NC Soft: 3 Unannounced Exclusives

Rockstar: 1 Unannounced Exclusive

+ Tons more

Oh, I see. This whole thread is a stealth troll. Good job.

Stop trolling.

At least we don't claim that Bioshock or Mass Effect were the "best games of all time" like the PS3 fanboys did it with MGS4.....

And I prefer swapping disks instead of doing an installation after each act.

MGS4 is the best game of all time not a Claim but a fact.

BULL!  The multiplayer isn't that great.  There are multiple choices, from Killzone 2 onward, which are better multiplayer.  As for single player, Uncharted has a better story and controls, and I could say graphics also.  If MGS4 were multiplatform NO WAY do you say it is the "best game of all time".  MGS4 is one of the best SIMULATIONS of a movie ever, factoring in all the Kojima pompitudes and all that oif course.

This thread, as your post indicates is absurd.  A second and third place system tooting their horns on game titles, and whatnot.  And no one dares to even mention what Nintendo.  You know the two ton elephant in the room, that will have two systems that are on top.  The reality is, Nintendo won people.  Doesn't even matter what is coming out for it, it will still outselll the PS3 and 360.  Get over it.  All I can say is enjoy your systems and their games, and stop this dumb use of titles as ammo.

I merely pulled out a few off the top of my head. I'm sorry I decided not to include unreleased games in the West, multiple unnanounced projects, and games that stand the ultimate chance of being mid 2010. I do know ME2 and FM2 fit that category, but I didn't pad the list.

If you want me to list all the console exclusives slated for 09, here you are:

Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures
Age of Pirates: Captain Blood
Alan Wake
APB
Dead Island
Divinity 2
Dungeon Hero
Huxley
Mass Effect 2 (rumored, but we all know it could be 2010 too)
Shadow Harvest
Thesis
Splinter Cell: Convition
Two Worlds: The Temptation
Venetica
Voodoo Nights
Warhound
White Gold: War in Paradise
Demons of Mercy
DogTag
Forza Motorsports 3
Halo 3: ODST
Ninja Blade

+ Unannounced and TBA games. My list is a little bit bigger, and excludes the 100 XBLA games that will be released that PSN will not have.

Wow is that list ever uninspiring. So the 360 owners should worry about here lineup, cause it sucks. I haven't heard of 90% of those games. The ones I have heard of aren't exactly standing out as must haves either

Of course not, because I'm sure you don't own a 360 *rolleyes*

The PS3 list isn't that impressive either, because I think GT5 and GOW3 won't be out this year. (Probably same with ME2 on the 360)

Forza 3, Alan Wake, Halo 3 ODST, Mass Effect 2 and Splinter Cell Conviction are must haves. Keep living in your dreamworld.

I'm not expecting Conviction to be in the same league with MGS4 just as Double Agent wasn't in the same league as Chaos Theory.

I have never liked the Forza series. It doesnt even come slose to GT series on Playstation. Alen Wake looks ok, as does Mass effect 2, but Halo has always sucked and Splinter Cell isnt as good as Socom. You are right about one thing though, I dont own a 360. It doesnt have any games that I want so why would I buy it?

Why would you comment in this thread when you can't accept the success and quality of those games even if you personally don't like them ?

I accept there success. The quality on the other hand I do not. I will use Halo as an example. Halo was a decent game, 2 sucked and 3 was only a slight improvment over 2. They all sold millions. Halo wars, an RTS is selling very well based on name alone. There are a ton of games on the 360 and Wii that are crap yet sell millions.  They are successfull yes, but far from quality games.

I strongly disagree with this statement. You'd be blind to fail to see that those games, by and large, are quality, even if you hate them. I hate MGS4. I think Kojima is terrible writer on the level of fanfiction writers who take main characters from other series and make them into gay sex freaks. But despite that, I can recognize that MGS4 is a high quality games, and I can appreciate that millions love Kojimas work even if I detest it.

And are we really going to have these idiotic threads every year? We know by now that MS doesn't release info on their upcoming titles as far ahead as Sony does, yet for the last 2 years we get dumbasses thinking MS has no games coming up, preparing to pull out of the gaming sector in the face of the almighty PS3, and assorted other nonsense.

I'm sure E3 will have a lot of announcements worth noticing. Remember E3 2007 when all microsoft did was announce titles coming out fall 2007.

Well, I wanted Sony to keep up backwards compatibility so it would drive Microsoft to keep up the backwards compatibility project for the XBox, but we can't get what we want.

I think it will be funny at this E3 when MS takes another one of Sony's exclusives. Will it be MGS4 or maybe Versus FFXIII.

Square needs the money, so i won't be surprised if they announce it as multiplatform. I'm not holding my breath, but i do think there is a chance.

Versus would be pretty funny. MGS4 would look sort of lame at this point.

Does anyone even know what Versus is?  I have the impression it is hyped, because it is a PS3 exclusive.  People say this without even knowing what it is.  Just it will be awesome, because it is a PS3 exclusive.

Judging from the teaser trailer, it's darker and more modern looking (as opposed to quasi-futuristic like FFXIII) and stars Alan Rickman (3:28).

We've seen next to nothing of either one, but even as a Nomura hater, I'm partial to Versus. It reminds me of VIII, in a good way. You could be right, though.
