Because complexity = better right? Thats not always the true.
I would say alan wake sales more if you count the PC as well.

In the case of RTS games and PC gamers then I'm afraid its certainly more true than not. Have you even played Halo Wars, it really is great fun on a console and I love the game but I'd be more than alittle disappointed if I bought it to play on PC.
I own halo wars and I still stand by my statement, increased complexity doesn't always make the game better.
The crux of the matter is halo wars is the way it is because its a console rts, its not designed for pc play and thats why it works. I agree that things would need to be changed but adding needless complexity isn't the only option. The streamlining of resource management and base building isn't necessarily a bad thing when it comes to an RTS, it just changes the focus from resource gathering and economy to using the troops that you have effectively.

If you took out the streamlining then that would be such a fundamental change to the game it would hardly be the same anymore. Also has you say there would definately need to be changes or the game just wouldn't sell in its current state. Its not really needless complexity if its expected in a market, if you ported a FPS game to PC that was missing fundamentally expected features from the audience then it will tank.
I wasn't advocating taking out the streamlining of the resource management. I prefer the way halo wars deals with it by making it less of the focus and that would work on the pc perfectly well.
I never mentioned the changes that would be needed but I was thinking more along the lines of changing the interface to be more inline with a pc rts. Attracting the hardcore niche rts fans really wouldn't be that important if halo wars was to be successful on the pc.
