I only know 3.1415926, but it's got to the stage in my courses where if you leave your answer in terms of pi no-one cares

Well, I want to memorize 1500 digits by Junior Year, in order to participate in the High School Pi Day, and Junior Year because you have to be in Calculus.

Well if you do that you might want to try this method so you don't forget them as easily. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mnemonic_major_system Memorization using patterns is good for a short term period, but after a while you lose it.  If I remember correctly there are some famous person who memorize up to 40,000+ digits in 6 years using this method. You could also learn like 100+ in an hour depending on how good you get at it.

You can't take AP Calc unless you're a senior?

The math program for this district goes (if you're advanced):

Alg. 1 in 8th Grade, Geom. and Alg. 2 as Freshman, Pre-Cal as Soph., Calc as Jun., Calculus II as a senior.

My school is similar, but instead we have only Geometry as freshman, Alg 2 sophomore, Trigonometry Junior, and Calculus Senior. There isn't anything after Calculus. I have a friend who takes both Geometry and Algebra 2 in freshman year. The catch is he doesn't do a language this year, and will need to get the required credits later on.

Oh, here you can only take Geom. and Alg. 2 the same year if you aren't in advanced math. So the highest is Calc.

That's how it is here too.

That reminds me of piems.

Wouldn't you have to memorize hunders of words in a row?

No, my method works for me. I am not looking for anything massive. I break the digits into lines 31 digits long, then meorize each line. Then, I simply recall the first few digits of the line and remember the first few digits of the next line, which starts the pattern recital. That helped me memorize over 270 in the past 3 days.

My school is normally (as long as you don't double up in which case you can have A2 in Freshman years, Pre-Cal Sophomore, etc.)...

Freshman - Algebra 1 or Geometry, Sophomore - Geometry or Algebra 2, Junior - Algebra 2 or Pre-Cal, Senior - Pre-Cal or Calculus

It's probably because my school is relatively small, so no one would take it.
