I thought cod4's singleplayer was awesome and the online is I think atm the best online game I have for the ps3. Many publications agree with that and gave cod4 an average of 94 on gamerankings!

 After playing COD4 on veteran the experience was ruined. They made infinite respawning enemies which took away any strategy of war. Go on load the game up, and play on veteran. Now snipe some guys held up in a farmhouse. 2 hours later you will still be able to snipe the same guard for the thousandth time. Very dissapointing.

And I dont know about PSN figures. But the top 2 most regularly played games on Live is Halo 3 and Gears 2. So 360 owners may be spoilt for more choice with better online shooters if they choose not to play COD4.

AFAIK CoD4 uses no specific platform; it just works. I don't know it that's what you meant but anyway, not even nearly all games require a special "platform". Oh, and games don't support Xfire - Xfire supports them. And finally, CoD4 is also available on Steam but does not require it. And Selnor: AFAIK CoD4 doesn't use Live; only few games do. It can't be counted for that then.

Selnor, the problem with COD4 is not HALO3 or GOW2 but its own brother CODWAW.
Everybody knows that COD4 players are now split into 2 games...

After beating the SP I played online for 5-10 matches before I sold my game. COD couldn't provide the fun factor halo 3 does so...

My copy is out there somewhere.
