Agreed. It is so obvious K2, Yakuza (and maybe RE5 will) helped PS3 sales. Without those titles PS3 would be miles further away at the bottom.

yes you could look at it that way... or you can say "Imagine what Ps3 sales would look like if there was a $199 model of the ps3.."

Sony is almost twice the price and its only losing by 10k??? thats horrible for M$ IMO. 

HAHA.  The salient issue is NOT that your beating your closest competitor for 2nd place...no in fact the salient issue is that you aren't winning by more given the price differential.  I'm sure Microsoft is looking for a way to get out of the industry, AS WE SPEAK.

in the land of playing FPS on 360, a hyped RTS released on 360 based on the most popular FPS for 360 outsold a hyped FPS that was unavailable on the 360 and was instead released on a console with a smaller install base with less FPS centric demographic customers.

 

Or where you just ignoring those salient facts that make the result anything but a shocking surprise?

Wow what a turn around.
Halo Wars beat KZ2 first week sales in US and only was 100k behind worldwide.

Looks like the positions have returned to normal then

Both MS and Sony are probably very pleased with current console sales. the 360 continues to stay above the 300,000 mark in the US and Sony remains above 200,000. As long as those two values hold true, both companies will continue to be successful.

Wow that is pretty good numbers for the wii. I am pretty sure that is YoY and WoW increase.
