FF7 is arguably better than 6, some agree some dont.

That's kind of like saying Uwe Boll is arguably a better director than John Hughes.

No it isn't. Uwe Boll movies are all box-office and critical failures. FFVII did well on both.

I know you probably can't deal with it, but FFVII is not only a more popular game, but it is still regarded by most as a better game. No ammount of bashing on it will ever change that.

Uwe Boll makes a solid profit on just about every movie (mostly because his production costs are heavily subsidized).

FFVII is regarded as a better game?  By who?  By the imaginary public you just generalized out of your arse?

By them.

Oh, I see 3 is actually 6. Anyway, 6 scores are based on 11 reviews, 7 are on 31; another discussion can be started there, a discussion that has happened many times in these forums but I think I lazy to start it. Anyway, FF6 has 93,68 and 7 has 92.44 I cant see how there is such a big quality difference there.

You asked a silly question so I gave a silly answer.

The fact that you didn't know FF3 US = FF6 Japan is even more silly.  How much do you actually even know about these games?  Have you played them?

There is. It's called Pokemon.

I honestly wish this was /thread but people are arguing that FFVII is more well-known because its quality than Pokemon sales.  Rather Butthurt if you ask me.

Well, I haven't been here the entire time. I just have to say this.

Quality is deteimed by the consumers. People are arguing quality, but true quality is measured in sales. Think of it as one big survey, or experiment. You give people this game, and see how much they like it. People when gaga for Pokemon and it started a worldwide crazy. FF7 was popular amoung gamers.

Sales are a good indicator of quality becuase it tells just how many people liked it. It would not be able to reach the astronomical numbers it did unless it was popular. Also, that many people would not have bought it if didn't have that high of quality.

The quality being spoken of in this thread (or so I hear) is that judged by gamers. The one I speak of is real quality as it takes in all factors of all consumers.

I'm sure not alot of people will agree with you on this.

I definitely wouldn't because it means that McDonald's cheeseburgers are higher quality than Chile's BBQ ribs.

I think we all agree that that post wasnt a good choice, even though it has some true to hold it, that means games like SoTC, No more heroes, Okami or Valkirya chronicles are not that good, and they are great.

This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard in my life. Seriously.

I knew there was a difference in the order in the US and japan and it was globalized with seven, didnt know which one was the other though, and I dont see how thats so silly.

I have played 1(not complete, a friend had it and I played it there), 7,8, 10, 10-2, 12, tactics, tactics advanced(not complete) and I dont know if u count dirge of the cerberus, crisis core, etc... I dont want to get in a nerd fight arguing which one has played more games, which might actually be you and I dont care.

I recommend playing a remake of 1 (on GBA and PSP).  The original NES version requires far more level grinding than the remakes.

What I love about this whole discussion is that defenders of FF7 are using the tactic of "oh people that love RPGs don't talk about Pokemon, they talk about FF7" but if you look closely to their definition of who is the "people" they tend to refer to people that either in some way or another all communicating through forums such as this and/or other videogame related forum.

They ignore the "mainstream" market and ignore it and dare to claim that "FF7 will be remembered as the title that advance the genre and Pokemon even tho it has sold more can't say that." Well, these fanatics are wrong. Of course it was pokemon the one that popularized the genre, of course it was Pokemon that make it simple for new players to understand how the JRPG genre is played, yes it was Pokemon the one that raised these same people that help grow these new users to assimilate to FF7 a lot easier. Do you think if people that have never played JRPGs would have picked FF7 and understood it if it hadn't been for Pokemon? Hell no. For that, Pokemon is the most innovative, the most well known, and the one that will be remembered the most. The FF7 fanatics are the niche market, not the Pokemon players, but in the fanatics world their beloved RPG is the one and only to have started it all.

The PSP one has FMVs, higher quality graphics, and a little more content than the GBA Dawn of Souls.  I think I read the PSP one was a bit harder than the GBA one but that was a while ago.

It cant be that hard right? anyway, thanks, I think I will get it, I dont think it will be so expensive. The psp remake of tactics was worth it even though I had played a lot of tactics but didnt finish it(the disc got screwed), so I dont see why this would be different.
