"Europe is safer because it's a different society than ours, not because of the presence guns. I challenge you to come to America and understand the gun culture we have. They are not as crazy as you may think them to be."

you do realize that renders your whole point about china.. and russa.. and germany.. and hitler.. and mao.. and stalin.. invalid?

and thats what i have been about..you said that those regimes would have never been in power for so long.. yet you know nothing about their soceity or mentalitly.. and i never claimed i understand the american set of mind

other thant that.. where is the proof that there is such a law in switzerland that works in the way you just stated? .. anyway thats a nother thing taht does not fall into place with you argument.. because its a different soceity that is not compatible with the us
as for your invitation.. i would love to travel the us someday.. so far i just havent had the financial means to do you ..but if you do invite me ..and offer me to show me around a little i would gladly accept

Firearms are a balancing act. There are negatives to an armed society, but there are positives. I've given you hard statistical analysis from research papers that point to the fact that guns do not cause more crime in the US, but I fail to see your repudiation of them. Guess here's the difference between your gun culture and the European one:

More Dakka has consequences, it seems.

You prooved my point. Look at how randomly spread about they are. More people in switzeland own guns, less deaths. same for a lot of differnt points on the map. Overall it goes up. but also what are the other crimes like. If the US has more crimes, then they will ofcourse have more gun crimes.

What the hell is Japan doing? How can it have negative deaths from guns?

hold the presses hans .. we just found out that japanese guns bring people back to life

Gun killings won't simply translate over to knife killings. This leaderboard here (http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/cri_mur-crime-murders) shows that the US has a 16* greater murder rate than the UK, yet in terms of population difference the US is only 5* larger.

What's going on out there?

Us americans are violent mofos. We will cut you where you stand!

But no really, our money is more spread out. We have far more druggies and poor people then the UK does.

its interesting how low japanese gun crime rate is.. considered that it has some of the strictess gun laws worldwide...

should this mean that anti gun laws actually work? then what about them illegal guns youve been talking about ? i thought you just could get a gun if you really wanted? or are the japanese more into killing each other with frying pans or chopsticks?

You do know that 99.99999999999999999999999999999999999999% of crimes commited with guns were obtained illgeally right? Let me ask you, would you rob someone if you thought they had a gun? Probably not. Look at other places that have outlwaed guns, their crime went UP not down. Now stop talking out your ass. Leave america for the UK or something. enjoy cutting your steak with a spoon.

I won't get into the heated debate about gun legislation just now but I'll just say that that statistic is complete bullshit and that vlad was right to dismiss your opinion earlier on.

If we hold your argument true it means that 1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 guns crimes are commited with a legal firearm. There has not been that much gun crimes in the history of man which means that only ONE gun crime commited with a legal firearm would make your stat wrong and I think we can all agree there has been at least one of those.

Next time if you want your argument to be respected say something like "the overwhelming majority of guns crime [...]" or "in most cases [...]"
