Forums - Gaming - Both My Wii and PS3 Are Gathering Dust...

... and not because of lack of games or online, because both have a geat library, the best library for my needs anyways, but because of the game prices...

I live in Venezuela so games are too expensive. Wii games go for around 400 thousand Bolivares up to 550. PS3 games get as high as 650 thousand. That's about $180 for Wii games and over $200 for PS3 games.

Now, I heard Sony was starting to get a bit more serious with Latin America, so i expected games to drop. Wasn't the case, atleast not so far.

Anyways, I wanted to know if anyone else is having a similar problem. Anyone else live where you simply can't afford games? Or simply consider the 50-60 dollar price tag too high to begin with.

No, for me $50 or $60 is fine. Ive even paid more for some. Cant you import the games since PS3 games are region free? Or is that to expensive as well?

You need to overthrow that communist Hugo Chavez, and then enjoy the fruits of the counterrevolution, which should include lower taxes on luxuries like video games.

Wow! And here I thought $60 was too high. Do you ever try buying games online instead?

That's ridiculous! I remember my friend went to El Salvador and at the time they were selling PS2 for $2000. It's ridiculous how games are expensive south of the border. I remember Mexico was selling the PS3 for $800 at one point.

PS3 Trophies

Here in Egypt games go for about 450LE for Wii games. 550LE for PS3/Xbox 360 games which is equivalent to 81$ for Wii games and 100 $ for PS3/Xbox 360 games.
Amazon became my best friend.

Wow thats expensive. I am sorry but if they are charging that high why not get the Wii modded?? Or get a 360 modded?

that is expensive

Well maybe because Venezuela is a poor country. Time for you to get it modded and port some games.

yeah i would try online purchasing. Or mod ur console. Other than that you have my condolances. And i thought $60 was fairly expensive. Im truly sorry for my fellow gamers below the border
