 "Sony's new massive marketing campaign seems to really finally be underway. This past weekend Sony increased the amount of ads for its video game products. Most notably the amount of prime time ads. This weekend if you were watching TV from 8PM-10PM chances are you saw a PlayStation brand commercial. The new Killzone 2 ad and another one featuring all three PlayStation brand consoles could be seen on all three of the major networks. Also Sony is heavily advertising MLB 09 The Show are "The most realistic Baseball game ever". Those ads are appearing on nearly every station at all hours. The effort is dwarfing competitor MLB 2K9's efforts. We'll see if it translates to sales.  Sony has perviously announced a major marketing campaign for 2009. Now we are starting to actually believe them."


great news¡¡¡. can you guys confirm this? i am from southamerica so i dont know since they dont advertise here, at least not where i live.

I never have seen the Killzone 2 commercial, but I've seen LBP. Funny thing is that I only see Sony ads late at night on TV. Nintendo has more during daylight hours while Microsoft's are during the evenings. I just don't understand why I see Sony ads late at night...are cable networks against Sony or something? Or maybe the games and the commercials aren't too family oriented to show at regular times. Yeah, I think it's because they aren't family oriented as they used to be, so they are only shown at later hours...

I haven't seen the MLB one, but I have seen a lot of KZ2 commercials. The one where the bullet flies past a whole bunch of people. I saw them during hockey games (essentially the only TV I watch).
