They name about 4 or 5 games that they got inspiration from. Of those, they named River City Ransom for the NES and Guardian Heroes for the Sega Saturn!

This is a first minute purchase for me. Yup, not first day, fist hour but first minute. I will be scouting XBLA all the way until midnight or whenever so I can be the first person on Earth to own this super polished and now so shiny gem of a masterpiece. We should all start making teams for this game. I call Dolla Dolla as my first partner!
