It is a fact that The Adventures of Link is a great game. I loved this game because of its difficulty and leveling system (exp in a zelda game!). Sure beats the hell out of Wind Waker and twilight. A majority of the people that hail wind waker, probably couldn't even beat adventures of Link.

I miss the difficulty.

A lot of people couldn't handle the water temple in OoT. You are an elite hardcore gamer if you can beat The Adventures of Link without using every exploit known (especially when you have to beat shadow link).

I didn't consider myself an elite hardcore gamer haha, I was 8 when I first played this game and beat it.  My brother had a snes and passed me his nes with all his games.

I got the game when I was 5. It took me years to beat it. My babysitter came over once and beat it one time by turning into a fairy while fighting shadow link. Those initial carts were so bugged.

^was your babysitter a girl? If so you should have married that girl, with her gaming skills...haha

no, it was some guy who lived on the next street over in my neighborhood. He didn't really play video games, he just got lucky that the bug fired

both Zelda games on NES just were not that great IMO,Crystalis on NES and Startropics are far better games of that genre. Don't think Zelda truly hit stride til SNES then the 3D games.

Though personally my fave Zelda is Windwaker and Zelda DX.

You like crystalis and startropics?  Man those were two awesome games! I didn't know any one else knew they existed.  I loved the yo-yo weapons in startropics and that dolphin.  But I can't believe you like windwaker the best...boo

Zelda 2 is very hard. I am going through it again, after the second palace i said screw it and turned on game genie XD

Startropic is available on VC if you want to recapture the joy of the game. I also thought I was the only one who loved Crystalis, that game was really great.

OT: Zelda II was my first Zelda game (I remember being wowed by the golden cartridge!). It took a really long time for me to beat (factoring the diffculty and the fact that I didn't speak English when I was 8-9) but I remember beating many times. Just for fun I would level my sword to the max in the first palace by killing the floating skulls over and over again for 50 exp.
