Forums - Sony - IGN Reviews Resistance:Retribution - 9.2/10

Closing Comments
So, yeah -- I like Resistance: Retribution. A lot. I think it's probably one of the most complete packages ever to come to the PSP. It has an engaging storyline, a likeable main character, tons of reasons to play it again, and one of the greatest multiplayer outings we've ever seen on this system. I think the setup might tread a little bit too closely to its Syphon Filter roots and I wish the gameplay was just a bit more challenging as a standalone product, but those minor gripes shouldn't keep anyone from playing this excellent game.

9.0 Presentation
The movies, dialogue, and Grayson journals connect you to this character in a way that makes you cheer for him. The setup is a lot like the last Syphon Filter, but it's still great.
7.5 Graphics
The CGI movies look great, but everything else is your standard definition for "good" on the PSP. The scope is big and the enemies are varied, but I never felt impressed.
9.5 Sound
Man, the orchestra is out of this world. When you're battling a gigantic Titan and the music kicks up, you can't help but get excited. The voices are great, too.
9.0 Gameplay
The weapons are fun, the ease of cover is great, and it's a wonderful ride. I wished it could've been more challenging at points, but the online and replay options help that issue.
9.5 Lasting Appeal
There are three ways to play the solo story, Skill Points to unlock, Intel to find, 12 multiplayer ranks to achieve, and 22 multiplayer medals. That's incredible.
9.2
Outstanding

I think we should ban Spartan from making review threads unless they are broad threads that encompass all a game's reviews.

I think we should ban you for personal attacks. Lots of other users post only the IGN review for a game (recent examples: Sonic and the black knight, Madworld), and yet you say nothing.

9.2's great. Hopefully it sells well, Resistance is badass.

If they also posted 5-10 reviews in seperate threads for every notable exclusive Sony released, then I would have many things to say.

Such as noting that it's a hair's breath from breaking the forum rules about duplicate threads.

I didn't make a personal attack on Spartan, I pointed out that he is flouting the very edge of the rules.  Did I call him names?  Question his intelligence?

Pretty cool.

@starcraft

it's not my fault that sony has lots of good games :P

in the past 2 weeks:(all above 8.5 from ign)
KZ2,flower,MLB09 the show, noby noby boy and now resistance:R

BTW IGN gets its own thread no matter what.the rest can go to an official thread if it exist.

Better yet, MAKE a broad thread and put IGN at the TOP!!

Interesting that IGN UK gave this a 7, because the 3 of them (USA, AUS, UK) tend to follow the same line with their reviews. Pretty interesting.

This might turn out to be a hit/miss game as opposed to the first AAA title on the PSP this year.

^^^I think so.
