No... it wasn't one of the bigger losses Sony had... and it wasn't related to the PS1.

Also... the PS3 is doing better then the PS1?  On what possible metric?  it's lost billions when the PS1 was profitable.

 

 

PS3 IS selling better than PS1 but nobody said PS1 was a failure. PS3 has sold A LOT mre than Ps1 in the same time

No... it wasn't one of the bigger losses Sony had... and it wasn't related to the PS1.

PS3 IS selling better than PS1 but nobody said PS1 was a failure. PS3 has sold A LOT mre than Ps1 in the same time

The PS1 wasn't costing Sony massive amounts of money.

It also wasn't following the most dominant videogame system since the NES.

Terms of success and failure hedge largely on your predecessors.

The PS3 turned an amazing situation into a mediocre one... and lost lots of money doing it.

The PS1 turned a non-factor in videogames into the market leader while making money.

The PS1 controlled both a higher market percentage and made more money then the PS3.

Like i said before, its easy to outsell your predecessor if your predecessor sold only 25 million. Why 360 cant outsell PS2? Oh that's right. PS2 sold a lot better than 360's predecessor.

Though, nowadays the 360 is no longer a failure in terms of making profit...AFAIK, MS has been making profit off of the system for about 6/7 months.

There is nothing wrong with actually enjoying a product that was a failure.

I'm sure lots of people enjoy their Zunes too.  I doubt many of those people would claim the Zune was a smashing success.

So you are saying its a failure but you actually like it. Well, i didn't see that coming. Anyway, everybody who knows little bit about gaming business knows that biggest profit comes from SOFTWARE sales. PS3 software sales have increased for 65%, so Sony obviously made profit from PS3 SOFTWARE. So sorry to disapoint you but the console you like is not a failure. Soon its going to outsell GameCube and Xbox.

So you are saying its a failure but you actually like it. Well, i didn't see that coming. PS3 software sales have increased for 65%, so Sony obviously made profit from PS3 SOFTWARE. So sorry to disapoint you but the console you like is not a failure. Soon its going to outsell GameCube and Xbox.

Right... so the over 2 billion SCE lost was a big lie then?

PS3 will remain a profit failure until it and it's software makes up this massive loss.

And it will remain a marketshare failure until it beats the PS2.

I beleive it will fail to accomplish both... as i would think, most rational people.
