Forums - Nintendo - No Love for Pikmin?

What, it's out already? Well I didn't see any marketing for it at all, and I've actually been in a few games and electronics shops in the past few days and haven't seen it anywhere...
Didn't even know it was out already. :p But now that it is, I'll probably get it, never finished the original.

Never played either on GC but I don't see any point in buying Pikmin when I can wait a couple months and get the superior Pikmin 2 instead.

They are different games, with a completly different feel. Its like SM64 vs Luigi's Mansion or something... Pikmin 1 being more like Luigi... Pikmin 2 being vastly better... but they are both wroth playing to completion. It only takes 10-15 hours to get all 30 parts in Pikmin anyway. Pikmin 2 I played for at least.... 80 single player+ 30 challenge+ at least 200 multiplayer= at least 300 hours. Great game.

Unfortunately there's a ton of great games I want for Wii but time and money is limited.  And as you say yourself Pkimin 2 is way better, so I'll be sure to pick that up and then if I love it, maybe get 1 later.

I'm going to pick it up sometime in the summer drought (unless Pikmin 2 is out by then). Strategy games and RPGs i've found are ideal for wasting away the summers, and i've got more important stuff on the table right now

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

played it, beat it two or three times, and own it.
so i prolly wont buy it again :O

I always wanted to play pikmin but I never got around to it so yes I think I'll pick this up eventually.

I played both 1 and 2 to death on Gamecube. So I'm waiting for 3.

But I have this horrible feeling that after I've played 3 I will want to buy 1 and 2 again for the new controls.

I understand that Pikmin 2 is probably a superior offering, and if you have played this on the Gamecube (which apparently many VGChartz users have) then there is no reason to get it, but if you have never played it before, you are really in for a treat. Yes, you could wait for Pikmin 2, but then you will have missed out on the original, the game that let Pikmin be.
For the people who played both games, aren't you happy that you played the original first?

i would like a pikmin 3 game asap, but i'm fine with these wiimakes.

i think they are good for the wii because there are now many wii owners (tens of millions at least) that have newer owned a gamecube, and they should be able to enjoy these great gc games.

i think these pikmin wiimakes will raise awareness of the franchise among people who never owned the gamecube versions, and help the sales of pikmin 3 in the long run (when it's finally released >.<).

come try out the computer game i've been working on for my high school senior project, titled sling ball. http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=47568
