Forums - Nintendo - No Love for Pikmin?

I bought Pikmin once, and played through it twice. Not interested in buying it for a second time, though. ^^

Would consider if Pikmin 1 and 2 came on the same disc, especially since #2 is kinda hard to find for the Cube, but I don't find them worth buying again separately.

I might its cheap in oz, 40$ at target. Prob. get DC though, thats my 1st buy in a while

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Loved Pikmin 1 and still have it for GC, so I probably won't get it again. I never got to play Pikmin 2 so I might rent that one for Wii when it comes out. I'll likely buy Pikmin 3 though.

Consoles Owned: Atari 2600, NES, Sega Genesis, Sega Saturn, N64, Gamecube, Wii, XBOX360

still got pikmin 1 and 2 gamecubes verisons and also bought wii play pikmin on day 1 of release.

Will also buy pikmin 2 - great games and amongst my favourites.

It's on my "buy eventually" list. But how could I send them off to die by the dozen if I loved them?

Oh, maybe if I loved them... to death!

Never played either on GC but I don't see any point in buying Pikmin when I can wait a couple months and get the superior Pikmin 2 instead.

@Wyku...

If you liked the first pikmin, then you should buy Pikmin 2 when it releases.  It improved on every aspect of the game.  The time limit is gone, there is a lot more things to collect, two new types of pikmin, caves, multiplayer-- both co-op and battle, 'challenge' levels.  Also, caves and the multiplayer levels are randomly generated, so while the levels will be similair when you replay them-- the layout of the levels are slightly different every time you play it.

I own both and have played through both many times-- but compared to pikmin 2, pikmin just feels like a well made tech demo.

I recommend that people pass on the first game and wait for the second game to be released-- it is the far superior game.  IF they add online support, I will actually buy it again even though I still have my copy of pikmin 2.

Also-- everybody should pick up Pikmin 3 when it comes out-- this is a great, and unique, series.

Pikmin 2 is one of my favourite games of all times. It is simply amazing. Really, really amazing. That said I could care less for Pikmin Play for Wii or Pikmin 2 Play for Wii. I have already played these games to death on Gamecube. All I want is Pikmin 3 to get released. Good for those of you that have never played these games before but I think Nintendo should be focusing on making new games rather than porting Gamecube games. If it was a 3rd party that was doing this Nintendo and Nintendo fans alike would be criticising them.

This. Pikmin was whimsical and magical, Pikmin 2 was the best dman game on gamecube other than may be melee. Definatly in my top 10 games, prolly # 5 or # 6. Pikmin 2 is just fantastic.

Agree completely.  Pikmin felt great when I played it but after I played Pikmin 2 it made Pikmin feel like a very average game.  That's how great Pikmin 2 is.

They are different games, with a completly different feel. Its like SM64 vs Luigi's Mansion or something... Pikmin 1 being more like Luigi... Pikmin 2 being vastly better... but they are both wroth playing to completion. It only takes 10-15 hours to get all 30 parts in Pikmin anyway. Pikmin 2 I played for at least.... 80 single player+ 30 challenge+ at least 200 multiplayer= at least 300 hours. Great game.
