360 fans must feel so happy that these mediocre games are better than their ps3 counterparts

Ahhh I forget! Only PS3 exclusives are good games. All others are crap. 18 rounds and in all of them only mediocre games!

Then show me a better skate game this days then Skate 2?

No...but we are happy that majority of games run better on our gaming system that we paid half as much as the competition.

+1

It looks like Skate 2 and Need for Speed are better on the 360, Silent Hill and Endwar are better on the PS3, and the rest are just as equally good/bad.

Silent Hill better on PS3? Really? Did we read the same article?

"I would say that the introduction of HD visuals for the series would be another key selling point, but weirdly, you only get those on the Xbox 360 version of the game.

If the difference isn't obvious enough, I entreat you to check out the screenshot gallery, where the instant switcheroo makes the situation even more obvious. What's happening here is pretty straightforward: you're getting the more usual 720p on Xbox 360, while the PS3 version of the game appears to be upscaled from 1024x576 - much closer to standard-def PAL resolution than HD, and a 50 per cent detail-level increase in favour of the 360. The difference is compounded still further by the fact that developer Double Helix has blighted the PS3 game with a honking great blur filter. So in essence, a game that's already being blurred due to upscaling loses even more detail thanks to an additional layer of blur introduced to the base image.

Further issues with the PS3 build include a lower-tier lighting model (check out just about any close-up of the main character) and the complete absence of any kind of Trophy system whatsoever."

VS

"the additional graphical bling 360 brings to the table is compromised to some extent by an uneven frame-rate. Being v-locked, it fluctuates between 20fps and 30fps in any complex scene"

Draw ... OK, but better? I don't think so.

BTW Kill Zone 2 frame rate is "between 20fps and 30fps"

Omg! What will I do now? I better buy a 360 so games I don't care about will have the details that nobody notices!

This (and lol, btw)

>=[ Watch It: SILENT HILL HOMECOMING IS NOT mediocre. :D

Whew....now that that's over I find it interesting that this is even an issue. In the case of SH Homecoming, I have both versions, (PS3/360), and the differences are not that serious. One has slightly better textures, the other, a slightly better framerate with less clipping, but does it REALLY
REALLY matter? If it is, look to each system's exclusives. They tell an interesting story, and right now that PS3, "that was twice the price of it's closest competitor", has the best looking game, at least IMO.

Regardless, even if this article favored PS3, it would STILL be moot.

The funny thing is that most of the people saying that actually paid $400 for their X360.  On top of that, they pay to "unlock" the multiplayer content ALREADY on the $60 games they purchase. ;)

and this

Sorry, whats this? Some kind of battle?

@ Brayan

Gears 1 & 2 had framerate drops, did that stop them from being stellar....right....no! I don't get you here?

This are my words in you mouth

Many excelent games had framerate drops in complex scenes, Kill Zone 2 included. I can't see why @Jordahn

decuded that Silent Hill is better on the PS3 when the only thing that is better then 360 version is the locked 30 fps rate.

@ BrayanA

About Silent Hill Homecoming, PS3 better yes because...

"...the Sony console is running the more playable experience, but some might argue that the cost of that performance increase is too high a price considering how much has been pared down."

This to favor the PS3 version takes the cake. And I'm secure enough as a gamer to where trophies/acheivement does not define me in anyway as a gamer. I won't let SONY/Microsoft determine that with a trophies/acheivement system. And you can argue all you want about it. Because as a gamer, I respected your opinion of "360 takes the edge ... again" while you failed to respect my legit assessment.

I paid ~327$ (after first price drop in Europe last year) for Premium and now it is even cheaper after the second price drop. At the moment the cheapest PS3 here is still ~516$. I don't know why, but all most (PS2 is cheap now ~160$) Sony products are so overpriced in many East European countries.

Because as a DieHard Silent Hill fan since the original, the look of the PS3 version looks more natural, artistic.  This really plays in favor of the PS3 version because Silent Hill aesthetics has always been about normal human being (even in the case of Alex Shephard).  What's strange is that the PS3 version I experienced looks better that the stillshots from Eurogamer.  But the lighting effects were similar which supports the natural look I stated.  We can break down the numbers all day.  But the most important thing is how the game looks to the gamer.  And again as a DieHard Silent Hill fan, the PS3 version gets my nod.

Don't bother BrayanA, he will only "drag you down to his level and beat you with experience".

Exclusives are the games that matter when it comes to running better, for it shows what each system is capable of on its own.

In that department, the PS3 easily trounces the 360.
