A random crash is nothing to call game stopping. Every game does it. Left 4 Dead (NO), Half Life (NO), Halo (NO), Gran Turismo (NO), Gears of War (NO), etc.

Especially when Twes is talking about the first 20 minutes of the game...

Left4dead, gears 2, and half life 2 have all crashed on me.

Likewise.

On PC that's usually a sign of incompatibility, which also doesn't address the first 20 minutes...

One example isn't representative though.  Clearly the majority aren't having any problems.  Clearly Twest is unlucky to be in the minority who have had an issue.  Unless I'm missing something the 'net boards aren't on fire with this, which indicates it is not widespread.

I've neer had a single crash - which in itself means no more than Twests example, except it would appear I'm in the majority who aren't having problems.

If this was a definite, major issue then most players would be experiencing it.  Also, these days, search the net and you'll find examples of every complex game freezing or crashing a few times.

There's numerous issues I've had though not really voiced nor cared about, with glitches galore, and GG is even addressing the bugs with patches so it has to be a bigger issue then it "seems"

I guess I'm just lucky then.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

I've had a freeze that occured immediately after an explosion because there were so many enemies which was just after a game save. It kept happening immediately after I reloaded the save. I had to restart that level lol. I've gotten used to these things.

Major framerate drops were common in cod4 as well but sometimes the game is too sweet to give up on. Most of these seem due to hardware chug so I guess the ps3 needs more power afterall lol.

I never noticed that, and I've played through that a game a few times. Except it tends to freeze alot in multiplayer, something that the 360 version never did (when I owned a 360).

I haven't encountered a game stopping bug yet in KZ2, and I'm about 3.5 hours in.

ever call an airstrike on a very hectic cod4 match?

The thing is usually game stopping bugs prevent you to game, so it's kinda amazing how you can get one and still keep going to get another !

A random crash like what twest had is well random. It is possible that it just randomly did it in the first 20 minutes. I;ve had games like Resistance 2 crash my PS3 just loading the menu screen. It happens.

Also it doesnt mean anything about compatability when i have beyond the hardware needed for all those games on PC. It is strictly a problem with how the code was processed. If a line of code doesnt process correctly in any game it could lead to either massive glitches or the game completely crashing.

Oh man, when I was trying to get some trophies and replay parts in the singleplayer campaign in Resistance 2, selecting a level to play would crash the game and I'd end up back at the XMB, like I had just pressed the PS button and quit the game. That really worried me.

<_< You really said that?  It doesn't matter how powerful your hardware is if the drivers don't work with your graphics card.  Example, DK has a stronger graphics card then I do, he tries to play Fallout 3 it crashes on him, he updates the drivers it works fine, Bethesta updates the game the game crashes again, however I have a weaker graphics card and not a single error has happened to me yet?  Do I shrug off as the game has no issues? No... and OT this is console games we're talking about, the developers know the hardware they're working with and they know the limits.

It's more excusible to have a game crash that has to work on many different cards and specs then it is for a game to crash when there's one console they develop it for and no difference in the hardware aside from some PS3's having BC and others not, plus the fact it's been in development for so long they could have done enough extensive bug testing to get many of these errors... but no you release a game people find bugs and you patch it, that's the way things work now...
