Forums - Nintendo - Why did Sega support Nintendo?

I was just thinking as to why Sega chose Nintendo to give Sonic exclusives to and revivals of several of their other franchises. They could've gone PS3 exclusive or something, but ended up Wii-bound. I'm guessing because of dev costs, and the success of the Sonic games.

And while we are at it, I think if A Boy and His Blob can come back after like 20 years, Alex Kidd can too.

Sega and Nintendo go good together, better than any other gaming companies. Their mascots are very similar, etc, ect.

Nintendo still doomed?

They are also pushing new ip like MadWorld and The Conduit. I guess they think they could do more cash in developing games on the Wii than any other systems.

no platinum games is not owned by sega they just have a exclusive deal

Maybe somebody from Sega sees a business opportunity where it exists.
With its lower development cost and larger install base, the Wii is a logical machine for a lot more third-party gaming than it has seen to this point.

So Sega has decided to:
Publish games that fill a hole in the library.
Develop games that build upon your strengths.
Market the games so people know to buy them.

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.
