1-DON'T introduce a new format stick with Blu-ray!-Sony lost Billions on their gamble with Blu-ray Stick with it and by the time next Gen. rolls around it should be more mainstream and a hell of a lot cheaper.

2-Price-Everyone knows the PS3 is some great Hardware with great features. However, the Price of said system is the main reason why Sony has found themselves in Last place. $600.00 for a console is at the end of the day no matter how much it's actually worth is a very intimidating figure. Sony always found success by launching their consoles at the price of $299.99 USD it would be only right that they try to launch again at a similar price figure next time around.

3-Do the Nintendo-Instead of trying to make the next piece of Playstation centered on new expensive mediums, just give the PS3 a very big Update. New exterior but essentially the PS4 should be two PS3's duck tapped together with a faster Blu-ray reader and possibly a bigger Hard drive

4-1st Impressions are always key-Sony has some of the best 1st party studios in the Industry hands down. While they may not be up to the Nintendo super 1st parties like the Main Mario, Zelda and Metroid games, Sony's 1st parties  know how to make some nice games. Make sure that your dev's like Naughty Dog, Insomniac, SCEJ, Team ICO and Santa Monica get their hands on Dev kits early on so they can start making games that will be there for launch. One of the PS3's main problem were the launch games as they're really only being 1 game that was worth playing when the PS3 launched. Have a bunch of quality games in the launch ranging from different genre's? FPS, JRPGs, Action/Adventure, Platformers.

5-This time around don't give 3rd party developers a headache with the hardware-While I personally believe if dev's really tried their hardest and focused a lot of their energy on the PS3 hardware they wouldn't have much to bitch since they would have a deeper understanding but alas Sony just make sure the PS4 isn't to hard to program for as a lot of Dev's will just choose the easier console to develop for as the lead hardware.

6-Square-Enix and Japanese Dev's-It's no secret that PS3 fans are starving for an JRPG The sales of WKC alone proves that. Still Japanese companies see the PS3 as a risk as they want to tap the potential in the western markets where the PS3's presence is not really felt. Find some way to convince those Dev's who will help you win your own Home turf that the PS4 is worth the risk.

7-Final Fantasy Vii-Commission, bribe get those Dev Kits out extremely early and make Square-Enix start a Final Fantasy VII Remake as a launch title for the PS4. This combined with the previous statements can almost assure you that you will definitely have a better position Next Gen as everyone wants this game and are willing to shell out the money for it. The fact that it's a JRPG gives your fans something to tide them over until the next best thing. Sony no matter what you have to make sure this game is either A) An Exclusive B) A Time-Exclusive at the least.

8-Exclusives-Everyone knows that exclusives can make or break a system. It helps gives diversity among consoles and helps gamers Identify where they want to game. This Gen Sony has been losing exclusives left and right and its time they either start Money-hatting or getting that mass appeal back so they can get their exclusive games back one way or the other. 

9-Better yet Still free PSN-The PSN has made strives to where it is today but it still lacks behind the Xbox Live service. Use the knowledge you have gained this gen from PSN and improve on it while still keeping it free!

10-First come first served-MS did a smart thing launching first, a lot of impatient people couldn't wait a year to Jump In to the next gen so they went with MS. Last Gen Sony was able to get out first a head of MS and Nintendo and was in the position to drop the price of their console around the time the competition was coming out of the gates. Find some way to do this again and people will be screaming SONY FTW from the rooftops

11-Marketing-I don't know what the fuck was going on with Sony this gen but they easily dropped the ball here in terms of Marketing. It even came to the point where Square criticized them for the way they marketed the PS3, rectify this and go back to the PS1/PS2 marketing days and you'll find more sales from the marketing.

um ok these topics are all old and have been brought up so many times its ridiculous

A lot of those really aren't very realistic and some of them are even kinda contradictory.

There is absolutely no way the PS4 can be first to the market since the PS3 is on a ten year plan.

The things you listed can help Sony imrprove its position but are no guarantee they would be on top. And you forgot mption control.

1080p Full HD 60fps great graphics will be standard by next gen.

blu rays can gold up 400gb and by time we will have faster reads (we already have actually) and i doubt it will be replaced soon.

1080p 7 channels will be enough for at least the next 10 years.

sony its in a good place to set it console with great advance.

both microsoft and nintendo will have to look for a format sony already got fundation.

FFVII remake will not happen until they do V and VI, so it won't be a launch title. Furthermore, all the remakes so far have been on handhelds.

On another note, Sony will not be first to launch as they need the PS3 to spend as long as possible in the profitable zone, which means not killing it until they have to, which means not jumpstarting the next gen.

I seriously hope they don't push for the most powerful console again, because that's what screwed them over this gen.

They poured tonnes of money into breaking their traditional gameplan which has worked (make a console that is not the most powerful, but able to keep up with its competitor BUT focus on the games) and decided (seemingly randomly) to make the most powerful console on paper, without regard for how it'd play out in real life.
