I think you might be right, unless it's just me. I seriously can't tell the difference.

A friend of mines actually just bought the game about 30 mins ago and said the controls felt rigid.

EDIT:  After checkin the Playstation Boards, I'm seeing lots of mixed responses. Some claim the change was minor. Some say it was huge. And others say there was no change at all.

Yeah, the controls are definitely different. Lots of small, small tweaks. The ~120ms of lag is gone (you can really notice it when firing the revolver), the acceleration isn't as hard to deal with and when you stop moving the stick, your crosshairs stop on a dime now instead of moving with some weight.

I'll only grab the patch after my first playthrough (Yes. I take my time, lol)

Shooting is easier now, yes. Still, it came at the expense of immersion, weight and realism. I don't get sucked into the game as much anymore but at the same time I appreciate being able to aim with greater ease.

I'm conflicted.
