Forums - Sony - New aiming/controlling impression thread for KillZone2(after the 1.2)

Ok as you may know patch 1.2 improved the aiming/controlling system system.(it came out At 7 PM friday March 6th)

 

 

give your impressions for SP and MP .

 

 

My SP impression:

now i can shoot helghast while they are running using the iron sight(something that i rarly could do).I also can shooot some one clsoe by using iron sight.( i could do this before but too much effort was required)

 

but the acceleration is there(just toned down abit)

 

 

so it's the same controls only abit more noob friendly/tight.

 

 

MP:

 

Ok i  just played the MP and i m doing much better.the controls are definitly improved and by my score it's definitly for better i guess.

 

 

all in all controls are much more noob friendly :P

 

 

 

 

 

EDIT:people remember to reduce the sensitivity now.

I dont know when the update came but for the last two days I didn't find anything wrong with the controls and I hope it's not changed from what it was then. The demo felt a little weird to me but I guess I got over it once i got hte game and started playing online.



I don't notice any difference. I have received 2 updates.

I also can't really feel any differences.

At least the shotgun got fixed. Assault class still dominates in most maps though.

I don't feel a difference.
I love the new style that Killzone 2 did anyways, The controls don't need fixing, people just need to get better imo.



I've noticed a difference in the multiplayer controls to be honest. They seem a little more fluid, less clumsy.

Because there was no improvement..

On the blog the devs talk about how they are looking into the "Control Complaints" and they "will have to be tested"

They let you know what was fixed, and even say "next patch" but for the aiming they just say later in the week, why wouldn't they say "Next Patch" like the rest...

The Shotgun / Light, Charge Disarming, is what was fixed.. but haven't tested that either..

Controller Issues

We have not stopped looking into the complaints and will see what we can do about it.  Any possible changes will have to be carefully implemented and tested before being deployed though.

We will have an update on this later this week

 

Charge disarming

We have identified the issue where sometimes the C4 charge in Search and Destroy will not disarm.  Will be fixed with the next update

 

Shotgun Aim Assist

Investigating the problem and will patch it up. Update: Fixed in next patch.

There is a difference, Especially SP ( When you stop moving Right stick , it stops on a dime , Gun respose is improved) . I loved the MP ones already, But will get used to Patched controls



They definitely CODed the controls. Iron sights used to take a second to bring up, they sped the animation WAY up so now it takes a split second and you can keep firing while you do it. The turning sensitivity went up too. It's alot twitchier now. You don't have to think so much about where you want to be, and pick a good spot to shoot from as run, iron sight, headshot, and whoever is quickest on the draw wins.

What's stupid is this is just going to keep the number of people angry at the same number. There will still be a large section of people that are still unhappy because they are twats, and there is now going to be a base of people who are angry that they just turned it into COD. This hasn't solved anything other than changing the people who are pissed off, and now it's just going to be the people that defended the game and enjoyed it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still loving the game. It definitely made it a bit more "noob friendly" as it were, I can tell because I'm getting twice the scores I was earlier today and have been since I got the game. If I'm doing this much better, then it's because they made it easier for crappy players to play.

It definitely hasn't "ruined" the game or anything so dramatic. But it has changed the pacing, there is alot less of a weighted feeling to the actions. Which disappoints me slightly because I enjoyed how the game felt. But I'm still having a ton of fun, and after a few days I won't even notice anything as per usual. I'm just somewhat sad for GG that had to compromise their vision for a a couple thousand very vocal whiners that were suffocating the community. I mean out of 750,000 people that bought the game in the first week, I doubt the majority even thought anything about the controls. But the ones that did, certainly made themselves known.

Anyway, I'm still having fun with it and intend to in the future.
