Generally you bind the most used functions to the buttons that are the easiest to reach. You could also try using ESDF instead of WASD to have more space to the left as well, although I have never tried this myself. It can't be too different, though, as the buttons ESDF have the exactly same layout as WASD. |
I despise having to use letter keys for anything in games.... the W isn't even above the S properly, which means your left hand middle finger has to be in an unnatural position.
The only proper game I play on PC is GTA.... and I set it up so that when driving, my right hand uses the arrow keys, but when walking I use the arrow keys with my left hand while my right is now on the mouse.
