Forums - Nintendo - ea to settle for 'ok' tiger woods 2010?

I always get a bad feeling when sports games don't take at least a full year to get a sequal ready. That's why the first 2 sports (nfl, ncaa football, tiger woods) games on any system typically aren't that good. The first game hits in oct/nov, giving the developer 9-10 months to get the next entry ready. As such, it's no surprise that tiger woods 09' was the first in the series to show any real progress. However, now it seems that ea has decided to push the release of tiger woods 10' up two months to mid june. This is being done in an attempt to hit the market as close as possible to wii motion plus. Problem is, no one knows when it's going to hit and rumors have it being released closer to late summer/early fall. With no real rival golf games hitting the console in the near future, I think it would be best if ea gave it's series the full year break in order for it to feel more worth while for it's release.

Should be no biggie, as they will be building the game of off '09s code base. So, all they need to do is add improvements and Wii Motion+ support.

Graphics probably won't change much, overall game will have a few new features in gameplay, but biggest change will be in WM+ use.

I wouldn't be worried about a big difference between the two versions. Now, '11 will probably end up being the definitive version as they would have a lot of time to perfect the use of WM+ and add a bunch of new features.

I dont' think EA had a choice here. They've already lost sales on TW '09. I was going to pick it up until I heard about WM+ then my TW '07 was suddenly good enough for another year. I know I'm not alone in that thinking either.

Once WM+ is out everyone will be looking forward to it for Tiger Woods '10 and '09 sales will tank. Personally if it's '09 with MW+ that's fine 'cause '09 was a great edition and WM+ will take it to the next level of realism. If they add some Mii support as well then I'll be one happy camper even if no other chances are made.
