one of Browns better speaches, im glad he's warning the US off protectionism (which i understand much better now ive done some research into it online) i just wish he'd do more to get the banks lending and stuff here

Well, he's doing as much as he can, and what he's doing is growing in size. I mean, in the past week we've heard of the £75 billion quantitive-easing, getting Northern Rock to lend £14bn in mortgages, and the Bank of England Bill which gives more control to it).

The London summit will be targeted at getting a world-wide regulatory banking system (which doesn't help much now, but it will in the future), as well as dealing with other things.

I personally think that Brown's Darling (see what I did there ) are being a little steady on what they're doing. I don't think that they're going to nationalise the entire banking system simply because we're getting ever-closer to an election, Labour is in shit, and they don't want to lose even more votes (they would certainly lose a lot of the centrists). I'm also of a belief that this has something to do with the part-privatisation of the Royal Mail - it pleases more voters than it pisses off.

:-p id still rather they did more, but id take them over the Tories anyday of the year

Unfortunately, you're one voter. Which is made even worse by the fact that you're in Bath.

Bath's swing Tory/Lib Dem, not much help to Labour (though, looking at your sig, I don't think that matters).

And one vote for Labour in a non-Labour area is as useful as not voting. That's the nature of our system, and what should be changed.

why would i vote for Labour? im opposed to there couter-terrorism policys, nuclear power, airport expansion, id cards, tuition fees, to name just a few, sure theyre better than the Tories but why should i vote for a lesser evil, when i could vote for a party that is alot closer to my views on the above issues?

of course the system is f***ed up, see the other pic in my sig, voting for Labour certainly wont change that, the chances of Labour or the Tories switching to PR is about 0%

^I wasn't saying you would vote Labour, I was saying that voting Labour would be pointless in your constituency, as it is mine (we're strong Tory).

As for your closing sentence: the problem with electoral reform is that very few Governments would want to change the system that they benefited from. The only reason the Lib Dems want to change it so much is because they're screwed up the arse from it. If they swapped places with either Labour or Conservative in terms of party size, I don't think they'd be oh-so-keen to change the system, either.

Basically what we need is some kind of Revolution

^Vote for me

In the 2015 election you'll be getting:

Labour - Milliband
Conservative - Cameron
Lib Dem - Probs Cleg
Social Democrats - Smith.

Make the right choice

I know very few people, socially and at work, that would now vote for labour and......possibly none......that like Gordon Brown. I do live in a region dominated by Tory MPs though. I think that Brown is doomed at the next election. Historically the next election should be within 3 months but I think will be put off until next year so Labour can try and recover in the polls.

Not a fan of the Tories but they'll abandon Labour's ID card scheme at least.

Brown is a terrible victim of poor circumstance. I personally agreed with his constitutional reform and social ideas more than Blair's (by social ideas I mean equality of opportunity, education and health, not civil liberties), but they've had to be put on hold thanks to this recession.

Brown needs the support of the people, else he could develop a bunker-mentality like most prime ministers do, and that's not good for anyone.
