Forums - Gaming - Is Ebay a reliable way to get old games?

Ebay can be good, but you have to be careful. You can also buy used games from sellers on Amazon.com so you could try there to if you want. You could also try Game Crazy if you have one near you.

You know there is always WIIWARE!

I have purchased many Super Nintendo games in the past from Ebay and have never been cheated. Just make sure feedback is decently positive and go for it! Also, Paypal is the way to go.

eBay kicks ass. I used to buy tons of used NES games there one at a time. I got the Game Boy games Metroid II and Kid Icarus II there as well.

Just keep track of your shipping fees. There's the occasional asshole on eBay who charges you 50 cents for a game and then $10 for shipping. That's against eBay's rules and you can report them though. Shipping for games should be $3 or $4, media mail style.

When I'm looking for one game in particular, I czech eBay, Amazon, and half.com (which is related to eBay and shares your same user account). I haven't had trouble with any of those before.

Yeah, I just registered for PayPal, but I have to wait a couple of days for them to deposit their stuff in my account (I have no credit card). I've tried GameCrazy but about a year and a half ago they stopped selling N64 games in my area, and GameStop didn't when my mom checked around the same time, although she isn't very smart when it comes to games so who knows.

I will have to check my local mall too. Thanks for the suggestion twesterm.

I just found Super Mario 64 and Majora's mask in a friend's, brother's house.

I took them, he doesn't know yet.

Priceless.

Nice. I have Beetle Adventure Racing from a friend, he doesn't care that I still have it. Another friend gave me both Ocarina of Time (score!) and Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness (crap!) for free. He had two Castlevania for some reason, but he gave me OoT because he likes Majora's Mask better and also has Twilight Princess on GameCube.

It's not the same!

I don't even have a Wii. If we're going along those lines I could just find the ROMs for the games. But nothing compares to actually owning the console/game/controller for itself. I only ROM if I'm messing around with a game, not for playing seriously.

Yea, I was going to buy the new PSP poker game - $12. Only thing wrong was that I noticed the $23 shipping charge at the last confirmation screen. Like wtf? He is in Canada too. I bought an 8GB memory stick from someone in Australia and the shipping charge was like $3.
