Forums - Nintendo - A Boy and His Blob - First Footage! (Totally awesome!)

http://www.nintendoeverything.com/?p=11757

Wonderful first footage of the Wii remake of the NES game A Boy and His Blob.

I think it has a wonderful artstyle - one that I really love. And I found the music suited it really well. The gameplay looks fun with it's puzzle solving elements. All this combined and I think it makes for an interesting title that I will keep my eye on up until release.

Your thoughts?

Is this for Wiiware?

No. Will be released in stores from what I've heard.

I also read on Wikipedia that it will not take advantage of the Wii's motion sensing. Which is a positive thing for me - it doesn't look like it needs it in my opinion.

- There is already a topic about this.
- You're late by 3 days.
- It's not a remake.
- Don't take info from Wikipedia because they are incorrect, this game is not using waggle or IR in any way.

Yes the art style is great.

Wii fans loves blobs, there is no denying it.

i have high expectations since i like the original but from this little bit it looks like it is shaping up to be alright....have to wait and see to make a real judgment though

i also like the second video because it is very reminiscent of where you start out in the original NES game

I didn't realise the videos were uploaded on the same day of the announcement as the post on N4G I found was posted 8 hours ago when I found it. I was specifically looking for a thread with videos posted as I didn't think they coincided with the announcemnt. I did this because not all people go back to a thread about a games announcement thinking there will be new media. I was only aware of pictures being released with the announcement of the game.

And I thought it was a remake because that's what the other thread and news article said it was. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=354104

And like I said, the wiki article said it doesn't use waggle or IR, which is what I said in my first post. So according to wikipedia, the game doesn't use waggle, which is what you said. And it also said, the game is a remake, which you disagreed with, but the quote in the neogaf post did not. Maybe it's not a remake, but was just referred to it as that. But from I can see, and I haven't read anything contradictory to this as of yet, it's a remake.

This post is a little off topic, and I hope we can stay on topic, and talk about what people think of the gameplay videos.

I love the art style, but will reserve judgement about the actual gameplay, at the moment it doesn't look particularly interesting, but I'm hoping I'm wrong.
