Couldn't help my self, really.  been playing 16 hours a day last three days.  Half life 2 still beats it for creativity and originality and will probaably be my favorite for awile to come.  Goldeneye and Perfect Dark were awesome games for their time, but games have moved on to an new era of complexity and style that sets them apart from the other generations IMHO.  A classic is just that, a classic...

I haven't played Perfect Dark, but I have played Goldeneye. The game is decent but heavily outdated

I think im making this point for the first time on these forums, so please bear with me.
The reason why Goldeneye has a very high aggregate score in sites like Meta or Grankings is the same reason why parents act ecstatic when their child takes its first step, but dont make a fuss when they see it running when its 5 years old. A great FPS on a console was a big deal back then, on the PC, the FPSes had to live up to higher standards.
And no, i didnt find Half Life to be too boring. In fact it stays one of the best games ive ever played. Wish i could say the same about Goldeneye or Perfect Dark.
