Forums - Microsoft - Star Ocean The Last Hope PAL release pushed to June

Yeah that's right, Square Enix is giving us, European consumers, the shaft once more. I seriously lost count on how many times they already did it, but this time it's even worse, since they didn't give any justification for it!.
The game, once inicially with a release date of 24 april, has now been pushed to "somewhere along June" and you know what that means, coming from S-E "If the game comes, it's somewhere in June"
Thanks a lot S-E...

Confirmed: they are developing a PS3 version.. thats why it got delayed... they had to shift the resources. :P jk

idiots

WTF what the hell is S-E problem?

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

I've yet to see any love coming from S-E here to Europe. Granted, they have done this time and time again, each new FF release comes with a 6-10 month delay from the NA version (hopefully that won't be the case for FF13, but i won't hold my breath because of it). But this is too much, i'm really really looking forward to this game, and they had already given us a release date.
Now they cancel the whole thing, and give us a very shady release date (no fixed day?). Hopefully it won't come to them cancelling a PAL release, but coming from them, i can expect almost anything (bad)

it's not too bad. it's only a three month wait after NA. At least, you don't have to wait more than 6 months like for Tales of Vesperia.

@shinyuhadouken

That's true, but they didn't give an actual release date, just a "somewhere along given month". That means that it has grounds for another delay or cancelation altogether. And Tales of Vesperia is on the same "Iffy" ground, because it's doesn't have an actual release date, just Q3-Q4. Don't forget that Namco has already cancelled Tales of Symphonia for the wii on PAL as well, given "low sales" of the game on NA and Japan, even though the game sold quite well actually.
I just hate when companies give shitty excuses to us Europeans.

Hmm isn't EU the number oneplace to release games for?

I mean the games over here are way more expensive even if you take away the taxes or whatever.

I believe so, here in Portugal each new game is about 60/70 euros, that in dollars is almost between 85-100 dollars. Make it a 20% profit for publishers, and that makes it between 17-20 dollars per game, way more than 10 dollars they usually make over at NA.
And releasing a game over her at EU can't take them those 70-100% more profit than a NA release, even with taxes and legislation issues.

yeah..it doesn't make sense, although i think na is more important. games tend to sell better here. at least the ones i pay attention to.
