Forums - Sony - How do PSN purchases work?

I was thinking of buying Warhawk on PSN, but I might end up gettin it on disc instead. I've only bought one thing on PSN and it was an episode of Qore. On the description for it, there's some mention of it being able to be only downloaded by 5 PS3's associated with the account. How exacly does this work? If I downloaded a purchased item 5 times and deleted it 5 times on the same PS3, would I have to rebuy it? Or does that apply to 5 different PS3's?

Does that also mean that if I was to buy something on PSN, could I actually logon to a friend's PS3 and download it onto theirs? I heard of some people doin that, but it sounds too easy. If you had the choice to buy a game online or get it on disc, what would you do?

Anyways, is Warhawk still active online and would you say it's worth the purchase? I'm gettin it mainly because it has splitscreen (and even online splitscreen) - the thing I easily hate most about my PS3 is the lack of exclusives that have splitscreen because they're too damn focused on graphics......I've been spoiled by the good ol' gaming days when splitscreen was standard and gameplay came first =/

You are buying a game, and you are able to download it 5 times from any PS3. Yes you can share it with your friend. I am not playing Warhawk, but since http://www.myhawk.org/ is newly opened site, I assume it is pretty popular.

You can re-download it on your own PS3 as many times as you like.

Up to 4 other (so 5 including you) PS3 consoles can download the game also, usually.

Some games have extra DRM, which will lock the game to a single PS3 console. Other online games will sometimes have a 24 lock, meaning that if one person plays a game on one PS3, the other PS3 will have to wait 24 hours (sometimes more, depends on game) before they can play.

Some games are also locked to PSN accounts, so even if they do allow on 5 different PS3s, they must all play using the same PSN account.

That part is good to know. Do you know if Warhawk has any lock things on it? If not, I'll be tempted as hell to buy it for myself and 3 other friends.

Warhawk requires you to use the same PSN ID to play the game as the one you downloaded it with, so if you went to your friends house and put it on his PS3 you wouldn't be able to play at the same time because you would both need to sign in as the PSN ID that purchased it
