Lets see: List of franchises Ninty have successfully converted from 2d-3d

Mario  Absolutely
Zelda Absolutely
Metroid Absolutely
Kart Not really 2d to 3d but still great
F-zero Not really 2d to 3d but good
Donkey Kong Would not consider this a success. DK Country series was awesome though. (think he was reffering to DK64 wch WAS good)

List of franchises Ninty messed up in the transition
None Clearly only your opinion (it's an opinion based on pretty solid facts: none of the series WERE tuined because of the shift to 3D.....not that I know of anyway)

They could do it. Could but probabl would just make minigames ala Mario and Sonic at the Olympics which is getting a sequel by the way (actually..Mario and Sonic is developed by *drum roll* Sega...so..nintendo would not make mini games, get your facts straight)

Although I don't think it would be as hard as the Mega Drive games

Sonic is a complicated game. The environment is tough to follow in 3D without looking stupid and circus-like. This is the problem. A game like that needs to be brought back to it's 2D roots.

None Clearly only your opinion (it's an opinion based on pretty solid facts: none of the series WERE tuined because of the shift to 3D.....not that I know of anyway) Once again do you see constant 3d DK games like Mario, Zelda, and Metroid no you see Bongo Blast which is not 3d platforming.

They could do it. Could but probabl would just make minigames ala Mario and Sonic at the Olympics which is getting a sequel by the way (actually..Mario and Sonic is developed by *drum roll* Sega...so..nintendo would not make mini games, get your facts straight) I know it was developed by Sega I said games of that type. Nintendo would do the same thing look at Warioware etc. Plus they published the game meaning they supported it.

Although I don't think it would be as hard as the Mega Drive games

Don't Worry.....Be Happy

Weren't DK games made by Rare, not Nintendo?

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

Why do people say sonic never made a successful transition in to 3d?

Sonic adventure and Sonic adventure 2 on dreamcast were great games. Nintendo could not have made those games any better then Sega did at that time.

Sonic team sucks now...but there was a time when Sonic team was as good as any nintendo development team (better in my opinion) and that time was well passed 1994 and Genesis Sonic games...

In any case...this whole idea of Nintendo buying sonic to provide a great gaming experience is a nice thought but not really a possibility. I mean...nintendo isn't really realeasing games left and right and is going to worry about another companys franchise in order to satisfy the hardcore...are they?

Donkey Kong Would not consider this a success. DK Country series was awesome though. DK64 was quite good√  Rare was owned by Nintendo

None Clearly only your opinion Agreed

They could do it. Could but probabl would just make minigames ala Mario and Sonic at the Olympics which is getting a sequel by the way I would not want the big N to touch Sonic, not their thing.

Although I don't think it would be as hard as the Mega Drive games.............What?

I see that not many of the folks in this topic have played Sonic Adventure1 or 2, two fine 3D sonic games, even Unleashed has it's moments. I doubt that Nintendo could do better than Sega when it comes to Sonic.

What about Sega transitions from 2D -3D

Shinobi√

Outrun√

Alien Syndrome√

Phantasy Star√

Ecco The Dolphin√

Virtua Fighter√

Daytona Racing√

Shining Force√

Harrier series√

Advanced Daisenryaku(World Wars) Japan only√

Tons of sports ranging from Football-2K series, Baseball including WSB,Tennis(Virtua), a couple of Soccer series, and many more other sports.√

Sega is Arcade style, which includes twitch or speed type of games,Nintendo is more exploration or laid back style but both are true gaming companies.

It still does not feel right, that Sega does not have a console for sale.

Dreamcast-18 years later "It's Still Thinking"

Was Sonic Adventure for the Dreamcast hated by everyone? I could have sworn there wasn't too much negativity surrounding that game.

Both SA1 and 2 were received with 9s and 10s...

Its only after sega went 3rd party that Sonic went shit. Even with Sonic Heroes...it felt...umm...crap.

Sonic unleashed is the first sonic game since sega went 3rd party that had traces of old sonic briliance.
