Its interesting that in the wake of the supposed biggest PS3 release yet, that system only managed to outsell the XBox 360 by about 200 units. We'll see if KZ2 has legs.. 

This is essentially the case.

Killzone 2 has sold well as a game in it's own right.

But everything else it was supposed to do it clearly did not.

Fact of the matter is that internet hype =/= huge sales because most sales come from casual gamers whom could care less about going on gaming forums and getting a hard on because the console they own sold better then another. People on this forum hyping Killzone 2 most probably purchased Killzone 2 but that is still a fraction of total sales of the game. Shockingly (:O) no one at uni was aware of this game existing even after the superb advertising, what they do know about is GT5 and how much is GT5 or GT games full stop talked about on gaming forums? Rarely yet the games end up selling 10 million each.

Dont be disappointed with killzone2, sent me your PSN and i'll add you. We can play few matches

PS3 owners enjoy it while it lasts as it won't last long!

Remember the huge jump 360 got in Japan last week? the sales will be back down this week, same will happen with PS3 in Europe within a couple of weeks,

There is currently no way the PS3 can hold a lead for more than a week or two at a time and only when a huge release hits,


Killzone 2 was meant to be the savour of the PS3, I don't think we're seeing that at all.....

No it wasn't. It was meant to make money.

Both games fell into where I thought they would. With killzone doing a little better. I didn't expect any increase in ps3 sales but nevertheless it wont really help the console in the long run. Sony need to find another way to permanently increase sales, preferably without dropping the price as sony's financials are already bad enough atm.

How come VG Chartz was full of KZ2 topics in the Sony area saying Killzone 2 would be the Saviour of the PS3 then? nearly all PS3 owners were saying how this game will turn the tide for the PS3 and kick the 360's ass, sorry but how on earth is 200 units over the 360 kicking its ass? and that number is only including one day sales data for Halo Wars and the Halo bundle,

I think next week will show the true numbers for PS3/KZ2 and 360/Halo Wars as they will both have been out for a week (KZ2 5 days longer) I could be wrong but I think the 360 will be back on top easily next week, maybe we'll even see some 360 adjustments this week.....
