I have a question. When it asks you to add a Mii when you add someone, does it mean your Mii or a Mii that you can make up to attach to your friend?
I'm pretty sure you're supposed to use a Mii that represents the person you added. If the person sent you a Mii in Mii Channel, you can use that one, but it is totally up to you. It's not like anything bad will happen if you did something else.
