Wow twesterm, I'm extremely surprised to hear this. All of my friends are -obsessed- with this game, and they absolutely love the online play. One of my friends has over 1k matches already!

And I should add I've played as Ryu and Akuma online and I do occassionly win matches with them but as I said above, I'm not having fun when I use them.

I also tried several other characters beyond just beating arcade moves and they were more fun than the Ryu clones, but I've had the most fun with El Fuerte.

That's fair enough. Elf is one of the more difficult characters to use from what I've seen, so don't get disheartened.

Zangief-- too slow, I like quick characters

Honda-- I haven't liked him since the SNES

Cammy-- I've never really used her other than when I was trying to unlock characters and I wasn't good with her. BUT I've improved a lot since then and I do like the quicker characters so I'll give her another go.

Bison-- I'm just bad with him

Fei Long-- Don't like him, probably due to Tekken and he just seems so cheap.

I have been half tempted to learn Rufus too, I've just put so much work into El Fuerte and still not much to show.  ;_;

PRACTICE, don't be a n00b.

Then why don't you try Abel. He has good speed and has good different style about him bieng a combo and grab charcter at the same time.. He is a mid tier character so he pretty good all around and not in the lowest tier like El Fuerte But El Fuerte does have infinite combo which is wierd..

Hey I just started playing this game and I'm still not sure who I'm going to play as. I've been practicing with blanka and chun li but I'm pretty new to this so I'm not sure who I'll end up having as my main. I'm doing trial challenges atm with chun li and I'm on the 3rd (i think) level. I am stuck on the one where I have to do target combo, medium punch, kikoken, senretsukyaku and I can't get further than the first two. I saw a video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ZmUycCnFk0 and I don't even see the kikoken happen.

What I've been trying so far is (if f=forward,u=up,b=back,d=down,and the rest like they are on the controller):f+u, RB,RB,Y+b,Y+f,b,f,b,f,B

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Am I cancelling at the wrong moment?

I've started last week and i am playing Ryu as my main guy mainly due to Nostalgia (he always was my favourite character) i also like to play as Zagnief and Abel.
I havent tried online yet (buying Live and Wi Fi Adapter this week), but im planning to do so after unlocking all the characters,

I really Hate Seth as a boss ( i know i might be just bad) but apart from playing as my main characters beating him as Chun-Li (she is not as good as she use to be) took me so long (around 30 minutes)

also, you should try Vega if you like fast characters. other than that it seems you just don't like the game.
