Forums - Sony - GT5 Prologue Not Free: Available on Blu-ray and PSN

Again, where does it say store?

Games have been given away for free before, Chu Chu Rocket is a case and point.

Errr ...

Are they gonna mail you the Blu-ray disc?

Look at the history of Gran Turismo. Name one prologue game that was free. And, while you're at it, just name a game/movie/demo/product on Blu-ray disc that is available free with no purchase necessary.

But, since you insist, yes, the press release doesn't say you have to pay. I sorta figured it was common sense once they decided to make it available on Blu-ray disc.

Well they MAILED me my Casino Royale... Which was free to me with no charge.

There has only been one prologue, and yes it was a budget release.

So why not mail disks out, and its exactly what sega did for the Dreamcast.

How often do you go to a store and pick up free Blu-ray discs?

Just curious ...

it could be a free demo disc, its plausible and about time we start getting free game demos on disc.

Where can I get Casino Royale for free on Blu-ray?

Oh, that's right. I have to be in Europe, buy a PS3, and sign up on PSN. Damn.

You win.

Europe?

Oh wait.. is that where the press release is from?

GASP.

There is absolutely no surprise here. The odds that something as big as this would be free was 0% from the beginning. Sony need to get this game out to as many as possible and they won't do that by only advertising it on PSN. They need the Bluray disc on the market.

1. There has been only one prologue, but there have been several GT "concept" games - which are basically the same thing.

2. Casino Royale was a fucking promotion, just like the "buy an HDDVD player, get 8 movies free" promotion going on right now.

3. Chu Chu Rocket was originally sold, but then it was offered with each new DC sold as a promotional pack in.

4. Why would they send out discs when they have can distribute it online for far less?

"Why do they call it the xbox 360? Because when you see it, you'll turn 360 degrees and walk away"

1) There has been one Prologue and four concepts.

Prologue was a budget game.
HD concept is free.
Previous limited release concepts (only one made it to the west) were charged for, but for around $10 US.

2) Yes it was a promotion, it was a mail in after. You asked for when they offered a Free blue-ray disk, and I provided you with one. Its still Free.

3) Chu Chu Rocket was added as a promotional pack, and was offered free to anyone who mailed in with thier serial number, even existing consoles. Thats how I got mine.

4) For people who do not have, or cannot access broadband. Yet one a PS3, yes these people exist.

Duly noted, Morgyn.

Would you be willing to eat some crow if you are wrong? Crow always makes my day.

I am not saying it will be free, I've never stated that.

I _AM_ saying that this press release does not confirm that it will be charged for, and that free disks have been given in the past.
